I am a month out n was doing good.just got to all foods this week but I am still barely eating. And the last 3 days not only is the scale not going down but its going up??? I don't undersdtand. If the scale is right I've gained 2.4lbs n 3 days. Trust me, not eating enuff to be anywhere near gaining weight. Did anyone else have this issue? I thought I was retaining Water but now I don't know

I did between weeks 3 and 4 I stalled and even put on a pound or two. Don't worry it will start going down again. Are you getting enough Protein and Water? I am @ 6 weeks and it's going down again so don't let it get you down.lol

The scale is a funny thing. I think for the majority of us we don't lose weight EVERYTIME we step on the scale...your body fluctuates a lot during the day. See the link below for a great explanation of how stalls and weight loss work. http://www.dsfacts.c...or-plateau.html

I personally feel that we lose and then bounce a little (water weight) and then drop and back and forth. I use the Wii Fit Plus program to track my weight. It graphs it out and a pattern emerges with decrease, slight increase, hover a little and then a good size decrease and so on.

Before WLS, I would have freaked out to see the scale go up but now I know it is part of the process and a little give and take is alright. Overall, if you follow your plan you WILL lose. I actually like the slower rate so my body can adjust and I can keep up with toning what is left :) . It is strange how my feelings have changed so drastically about the drive to lose weight...by taking a more relaxed and stress free approach I think it has helped me enormously on this long marathon of a journey!

I have lost almost 32# in 9 weeks which I think is GREAT!! Especially since I don't have to see that 32# again!!! This whole process is like starting all over and learning to eat again from scratch.

Good luck and just stay focused on the final prize.

I just stay away from the scale for a few days so I don't freak myself out.

No need for panic, it happens. As long as you are not eating less, chewing more, keeping yourself well hydrated, and upping your metabolism with exercise, it will eventually come off.

Even if you don't exercise, stay off the scale.. If your set on weighing yourself.. Do it at the same time.. Your weight fluctuations are patterned as well.. I find every 3-4 days is fine at first.. But now I'm on scale like once s week if that.. I'm completely happy with the results. And the losing weight is actually not near as important as how I feel day in and day out..

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
