Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call

Recommended Posts

Hello Everyone, I am 13 days post op, down 34 pounds. I'm feeling much better, I don't have much pain at all. I decided to hv sex with hubby, well it was great and well over due, two wks almost. I was so worried I would e in so much pain but so happy it wasn't that type of pain. Has anyone experienced the opposite and do you all that that was too soon?

Yay for skinny sex!! LOL! But I am not ready to venture there yet...my incisions are still causing too much pain. Although I am positive my husband would LOVE for me to be ready...BTW, how much weight do you need to lose because your profile pic doesn't look like you need to lose ANY....

Well, friends, today was the first day of soft solids and wow, it is hard. I made a Protein Shake at 9:30am and still haven't finished it. I have no idea how some of you can drink 2 of those in a day. And I have been so full that I am not even drinking my Water. Hardly going to the bathroom today which concerns me (and my kidneys!). Then this afternoon in my Quest to get more Protein I scrambled my first egg at about 2:20pm. I melted one wedge of Laughing Cow Queso Fresco and Chipotle cheese in with it to make it more mushy. OMG! Heaven! It tasted so good but still at 4:23pm can't finish it. I have given up after heating it up twice in the microwave. it just feels like it is sitting in a lump in my tummy. But now I am trying to drink another 8oz of Powerade just to get some liquids in. Who knew this was going to be so dang hard?

They say the bad foods go down easier then healthy sometimes but I bet that cupcake tasted like heaven - you deserved it... & yea when I did tuna yesterday it had me feeling yuck so I won't be trying that again & today I just ate hard boiled eggs & I had no bad reaction...

Trust me I feel your pain, I have regretted it many days since having it on 9/12... I have had the same emotions that you have had... I pray it gets better for all who feel like this... Ik all you want is to be able to eat normal & not have any weird side effects... I can eat soft foods now but the weird stuck like feeling it has when it goes down has me not wanting to eat so trust me ik where come'n from... Sometimes I wish there was a reversal process or maybe even that they only took 1/2 our stomach not 80% of it...

We will get past these feelings though, just know your not alone in this, although all of here are in different places we are still here for each other from a distance....

I just hate to vent about this but I am feeling so bad. I am going to continue to pray and when i see my doc i am going to ask him why he had to cut so much stomach out....LOL. Thanks so much for the support. I think that if i can get over the feeling of the little pain that i feel when i swallow i will be fine. Oh and the heartburn that i never had.

I feel that I did better today, I started using Gold Standard 100% whey Protein, I'm able to drink 8oz mixed with milk down in about 1/2 hour. I had one for Breakfast and lunch (it's easier to have one at work - I don't have to worry about dumping. For dinner I had 5 garbanzo Beans (cooked), 1 1/2 tablespoons of refried beans with melted cheddar cheese and 1 teaspoon of guacamole. It tasted so good I really wanted to eat more, but I got that heavy feeling in my throat and stopped. Maybe I'll try another tablespoon later tonight. Maybe I finally have this phase figured out?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
