3.5 Months Out - Bleeding

Recommended Posts

this is a classic case of why people "rant" elsewhere. ok no blood now so ill just wait til it happens again. seriously folks, when blood flows from areas of your body it does not normlly flow from. see your doctor tht day! if that was said with too much passion....i dont care. i used to be a volunteer firefighter emt. i prefer live people to dead ones so i take this seriously. when blood is involved, waiting for more is not terribly bright.

thank ypu cherry. i re read that post and while it was riddled with typos (thank you valium) i did mean to impart a strong sense of urgency. this could be a life and deAth thing. a bunch of idiots guessing could lead tothe womans death

Iggy just try to be a little more sensitive. This isn't the first time you've offended. Like above where u refer to the people in this forum as " a bunch of idiots". Ease up and maybe reduce the Valium a tad.

suz, i have a strong affinity for live people. dead people are debbie downers imo. so when i see some one posting a question which could present a serious issue in the near future for a poster i respond with an appropriate level of urgency to the situation.

note that idid not agree or disagree this could be hemoroids as she wished us to say. nor did i mention her tom because the absence of that in her first post lead me to believe that was not an issue. i in fact offered no possible diagnosis because she is not my patient and i am not her doctor. people offer up possible diagnoses to posts of this nature are in fact not living at the top of the mental food chain. that helpful chitter chat could lead to some ones death.

im not going to shy away from a post like this because if one out of five people posting this type of thing goes "oh geeze i should go to the er". than ive done the right thing.

DO NOT insult my medical condition. the valium makes it difficult to see my key board clearly so i often miss spaces or hit the wrong letter. it does not make me mean if you aretrying to say that. not funny and definately worth an apology.

I had a colonoscopy about 4 years ago. It was fine. Not taking Colace. It has stopped since this morning but did gi give me a scare. If it starts up again, I'll have it checked...who do I go to? Family dr or gyno dr?

either Dr can direct you to what is needed and check I would chose to go to my Gyno as they do rectal exams too.

First off, my apologies to anyone who was offended, nobody here is an idiot. Thank you all for your concern and kind responses to the original posters question.

For the OP, honestly, if I was bleeding, I would place a call immediately to my doctor to ask their opinion. At this stage, it is unlikely to be something from your surgery. But it definitely could be a sign of a number of other possible medical issues. Just to be safe, make the call, and please let us know what you find out. We are worried about you.

I woke up this morning fo my routine shower and hair washing. When I went to the bathroom soon after' date=' there was alot of bright red blood on the toilet paper and streams of blood in the toilet. I went three other times at home and still the same result. I do have some abdominal pain but I worked out a little harder last night. So I knocked that up the mucle pain from the workout. Just went again from work and no blood, more of just mild stains of blood on the paper. Could this just be hemmoroids or something I should worry about?[/quote']

I am sure you'll see your doctor and take the safer route. I just wanted to share with you my experience.

I have bleeding when I work out hard. I went to the doctor for it and she said some womens bodies are sensitive to the movement of exercise. Sure enough everytime I go the distance I have bleeding.

At first this was very alarming to me, but now I know to expect it.

Wishing You Wellness,

Sannah

Update - No bleeding since yesterday. I did call my Gastric dr and the nurse said as long as it is bright red blood, its not coming from the stomach. So I called my family dr and have appt next week. I'll update when I find out something.

I have noticed i crave to snack all day again. Im 3 months out...is this normal? I snack on under 100 cal Snacks and dont eat alot for Breakfast, lunch and supper...all together, I think I'm still under 600-700 calories a day. What do you snack on?

I appreciate all the input, both harsh and concerned. THank you so much. I know I can always count on this group.

Glad ur ok! Yes, bright red is a good sign. Most likely a hemroid. I'm not a doctor, but my dad is, so that's who I asked to give you my opinion. And I know from 3 pregnancies about hemroids! TMI. ;)

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
