Breaking Out

Recommended Posts

Since I have been sleeved my skin has been breaking out with more pimples etc..It also just feels "yucky" in general (for lack of a better word to describe it). I know this is because of all the hormones wreaking havoc in my body right now (don't even ask about the effect this has had on my TOM). My question is, what have others done to minimize the breakouts and make their skin feel soft and smooth?

Omg! I feel like a teenager again. :( It's crazy! I've been trying all kinds of face wash, nothing is helping. I'm at a loss. =/

It's allergy season everywhere. Do you take an antihistamine? Try a Zyrtec and see what happens. That's the stuff that generally doesn't make you drowsy.

Since you three are women, I'm guessing it might be the hormonal load of the shifting fat cells. Try Tea Tree Oil- based products.

Tea tree oil and regular chemical peels.

Kinda painful but so effective.

Neutrogena face scrub pads are the only thing that helps me.

Me too, I'm almost 4 months out and my face is broke out with 4 spots when I usually get maybe 1 at the most per month. I've been using baking soda. It's also not as oily so I don't know why it would break out more.

I love Simple products and I like Dermalogica daily micro scrub.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
