Okay, so when exactly is Easter ( the date I mean..)? Surely I can lose 10 pounds. I have been so discouraged because I keep gaining. Seems like I gain 2, lose 1/2 lb. Crazy I know. I guess I thought once I got this band all my troubles would be over. No more being hungry, being bored...etc... I know Im nuts..ha ha ha

Even after my third fill, I still dont have very much restriction...but I truly think its all in my head, but how do you over come that garbage...I really do need some therepy.(seriously)

Hope everyone has a good day, talk to ya later on this afternoon.

Welcome aboard White! I seem to be the only regular male lurker around here. But I love all of my October Bandster Angels. Each and everyone has written something that has encouraged me when I've been down. This is a great group.

I as well am up for the Easter Challenge. I didn't quite make the Valentines day challenge but that will not discourage me! I want to be a loser and I will be a loser!

Y'all have a great day. We got a half a foot of snow here last night. Ugh! But you know what? Shoveling snow has gotten considerably easier since I started to exercise! Now I just need to teach my wife how to do it and I'll have it made!.............Jimboss

One more thing girls. I think you'll chuckle about this.

I was in for my fourth fill the other day and my lovely nurse Mellisa was getting my numbing injection ready and told me as she was getting ready to stick me..."little prick now". I told her "Not really Mel. It's just cold in here". She about fell out! She enjoyed my humor anyway........LOL.

Love you all................Jimboss

I bet your a riot......!!!!! As far as the snow goes, I live in Alabama, and we havent got real snow since 1993, but the weather says our best chance is Saturday night. Im hoping....I dont want any travel problems but I would love for my girls to have a little snow experience. (snowman or snowgirl..ha ha)

How cold is it where you live?

Yesterday it was 60 degrees here, today raining and a balmy 45 degrees. Very weird weather to say the least.

Good talking to ya!!!

I hate to take up all of the posting space but I am thrilled to announce that I am actually under 280 pounds! I got a weight done today at the Dr's office and I am 279.7!!!!!!!!!!! What a thrill! I gotta tell you girls, Old Jimboss is one happy camper. I know I have a long way to go but I haven't seen the 270's for at least 10 years!

I wish I had the funds because I'd buy everyone of my Bandster Angels red roses for valentines day! Your support means everything to me girls. Thanks so very much for all you've done.

But the journey continues! I'd love to drop another 80 pounds and with y'alls help..........Jimboss will make it! Bless you all and I love ya!

Jimboss

Hi friends!

Way to go Jimboss!

It was a decent day - got to work from home - reminded me how much i need a new job. The furnace repair man was early! left and I had heat!

Now that its 18 but feels like -1 the heats gone again. i didnt believe my DH when he told me so i snapped on him. GGRR I'm so annoyed!!

But i did spend all day baking like a crazy person for our bake sale tomorrow and only had 1 cookie and a bite of a cupcake.

Hey Jimboss I may be in your neck of the woods soon. My california client wants to see his first run of cards being produced and we do them in Sioux Falls. I'm trying to talk him into letting me go to CA with photocopies instead!

well i better go cacccooon myself under lots of covers and see what tomorrow brings.... more snow it looks like but maybe we'll raise a lot of $$ for my girls...

Nyte all!

Hi everyone, it's been awhile since I posted but I'm back. I reached the Valentines day goal and I'm up for the Easter goal, I'm setting my goal at 15# maybe this way it will get me to exercise. Jimboss your right about the snow shoveling, it is easier but I still don't like it. We got 15 inches today and it is blowing like crazy so no sooner than I get it done it is covered up again. I'm going to look for the muscle milk everones talking about and try it. I hope everyone has a nice Valentines Day.

Happy Valentine's Day my friends!

So i hopped on the scale this morning to see how close/far I was from teh Valentine's challenge. I almost fainted when i saw the 210.0!! 1 pound away!!

BUT HOW is it possible to lose 5 pounds overnight?? I got on and off the scale probably 7 times.

Maybe I shouldn't call the furnace folks! Maybe this shivering to fall asleep is really the next best exercise crazy. Wonder how i can make a DVD out of that ....

:)

Have a wonderful day! I better get to working...

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
