Recommended Posts

Well its prettyh unoriginal but Susan Faye is my name. I figured I had been called enough nicknames on the basketball court- tree, big country, general etc.- I just wanted to be me for a change.

When I decided to get the surgery I decided to "give it my all" from that moment forward. No more slacking. When I feel like giving up in the gym, I remind myself that I am "GivingItMyAll" and push through.

Dexter. Not the tv show. I had an old cat and he decided to make a bed out of a boot box. Yes, Dexter boots. My friends stared to call the cat dexter and now I use it for online nicknames.

My first name starts with a K and my middle name starts with an R. My family call me KR as a nickname. When I went to chose my email address around 12 years ago, all the KR's and related names were taken so I decided to spell it instead. (K) Kay ® argh- I spelt it 'argh' as I was getting frustrated at the time because every name I wanted was taken. Now Kayargh is almost a daily part of my life! Lol.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
