Blue Shield HMO of California

In order to receive authorization to see a surgeon for lap banding from Blue Shield, I had to provide them with 6 months of documentation that I was participating in a physicians managed weight loss program (Weight Watchers). Authorization was granted and I had my consult visit and was considered a candidate and proceeded with obtaining the various authorizations for testing to determine my eligibility. I am now waiting to hear from the insurance carrier and my surgery has been schedued for October 30. I have Type 2 diabetes, hi cholesterol, hi blood pressure and a BMI of 48.9. Obviously these are all co morbities and should qualify.

Does anyone have experience with Blue Shield of California and their approval ratio?
