How Do I Delete / Close Account

Recommended Posts

Can someone please provide directions on how to close / delete my account and remove my information from this site? I searched through help and the forums but didn't find anything relevant.

I just read this in the forum rules :

We do not remove member forum accounts on request. You are welcome to stop visiting the VerticalSleeveTalk community if you no longer wish to contribute or participate in discussions. If you have privacy concerns, we provide our members with the ability to change or update their display names. Members also have the ability to update or modify any information made available in their public profile.

With rare exception, once messages are submitted to the forum and replied to, we do not remove them. Removing messages completely would be a disservice to our community as a whole; especially to those who offered a response to you.

"Removing messages completely would be a disservice to our community as a whole; especially to those who offered a response to you." Clearly, allowing us to leave would be a disservice to your advertisers. I wish there were a fine for virtual kidnapping.

Why don't you guys just change your notification settings -- to stop any emails you receive about new posts, etc.

And if you don't want your picture here or your name here, you can change those (using no avatar at all).

If you don't want your prior posts showing, you can take the trouble to go into posts you now wish you'd not made and edit those by putting in only periods.

Those are some work-arounds to meet whatever your new needs are.

And if you don't like these suggestions, don't yell at me ... I'm just trying to be helpful. ;)

Well, another option would be to do something to get you kicked off lol. That would solve it .

All kidding aside, I agree there should be an option to delete account.

I am trying to figure it out too. I was on board until I realized there is no way I can figure to edit or delete the posts I have made. This is clearly not right.

"Virtual kidnapping"? You mean you didn't sign up of your own free will? You were seized in the middle of the night and forced to sign up for BariatricPal against your will?

... Or do you mean you didn't read the terms & conditions and now, you're upset by the very rules you didn't read?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
