I'm not sure if I had stomach spasms, but I know they kept stressing to sip and not chug/gulp. Your stomach is a muscle which pretty much was cut in half, so it will take time to heal. Just do what your doctor says and you will be good in no time!! Congrats on your new sleeve!!

After first week it will relax. I think your spasms are probably gas pains which while in Hosp and on discharge they gave me chewable gas pills works wonders

Dr. C should have given you Bentyl for the spasms... are you taking it? It helped me a lot. I had mild spasms, not that bad and it only lasted a few days. By day four at home I was off the med. Feeling awesome ever since! You'll do great, you had the best surgeon, just give it a few days :)

Hey everyone is it normal to gain weight I'm 4 months out and I've lost 65 pounds and I have gained like 5 pounds and I'm tracking everything and doing restiance bands and been shovling snow and haven having stomach pains in the middle of my stomach that radiates to my right side had an ultra sound and no Gail stones but still having symptoms and syngery is sending me for an uper endoscopy i would think they would send me for a HIDA scan instead cause when the dr did the exam and pressed where my pain was and the drs like sounds like gailbladder so I'm a bit frustrated but I'm determined to keep going with the weight loss could it be I'm at a stand still for the weight loss for a bit and then go back to loosing

Sounds like you could be putting on muscle? Do you keep track of your measurements? Muscle weighs more than fat, so u could still lose inches and gain weight. As for the abdominal pain, where is it? I had my gallbladder out a couple years ago because of the yoyo dieting I did. It can appear in different ways but I had pain in the right upper abdomen under my breastbone. A lot of insurances will require doctors to do certain tests before they will pay for other tests, so it might just be that the insurance won't pay for the HIDA scan until they do an upper GI. Hope they figure out what's wrong.

the pain is in the middle of my stomach and radiates to my right side and goes to my back sometimes and my right shoulder hurts at times too and it hurts more after meals and when I take a deep breath it hurts too and I had an ultrasound and no stones came up but the tech said that it still could be gailbladder even with out Gail stones and thanks I hope they figure it out too and plus I've been belching a lot also

They only found "questionable" gallstones on my ultrasound and CAT scan when they were trying to diagnose gallstones. When they removed my gallbladder I was told it looked like a hacky sack I had so many stones. So in my opinion, the ultrasound and CAT scan can't dx anything concrete. The HIDA scan may be your best option, but like I said, your dr may have to jump through hoops in order to get other tests paid for. It does sound like it could be your gallbladder.

I had surgery over 6 months ago and I just started having some pretty bad hearburn/GERD, which makes me nervous since I had a hiatal hernia repair at the same time as my sleeve. I never had GERD symptoms before surgery.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
