Recommended Posts

Hi fellow Nov sleeves!!!

My surgery date was 11/21, I'm down 62 lbs. Great except now the scale hasn't moved in almost 3 weeks! I get 65-80 g of Protein daily and about 64 oz of Water. Calories typically 800-850. Anybody else experience a stall yet? I'm so frustrated!

I get mini stalls ... I will stay the same weight for a day or two and then lose a pound. As you can see from the ticker we're extremely close weight loss wise and we were sleeved on the same day too, and I just saw we have almost the same starting weight even! :) So, seems like even though you're having long stalls and I had short stalls, we're still losing pretty close to the same amount.. Only real different is that I have more to lose than you do. I can say don't sweat the stalls, but we all sweat the stalls. We're both still losing pretty good either way.

Yes! I have been experiencing the same stall. My calories and yours are typically the same, I don't get as much Water. I changed up my workout routine to include some interval training, and the stall broke! It broke big time, I lost 5 lbs this week. I think the interval training is really working. You might want to give that a try.

Good Luck! Let me know how it goes.

I hit a two week stall and just started on dandelion tea this morning. It's a diuretic, a natural diuretic, and so far today I've she'd three pounds of Water weight...I'll you know if it stays off! I finally hit 176 today from my surety weight of 265.4 on 11-27!

I am down 76 lbs from my high last April, yay!, 56 lbs since surgery November 12! I am finally under 190 for the first time in my life and 3 lbs from weighing less than my hubby for the first time in our history! I am a size 12 pants, size M tops, I don't ever remember wearing either of these sizes. LOL, I have also dropped 1 1/2 shoe sizes, I was a 9 1/2 - 10, now 8 - 8 1/2, I never thought about my feet losing weight! I am sad about my feet, because I am a sandalholic! I'm trying not to purchase too much yet because I have 40-50 lbs to go, depending on how I look and feel. I will post pics soon! This has been the best thing I have done for me! I do go through stalls, but usually I just change everything up by either eating a little more or doing a few more Protein Shakes. I do still use shakes to up my Protein. My nut says I should have 80-100 grams of protein per day, I can get to 60, but above that is tough to do.

Finally got below 170 today...Highest weight was 225.5 in October. Sleeved 11/12/12. Just finished interval training. Running at 3.8 and walking at 3.0 which is great for me. In a week I have to be able to run 1 mile, 1 min. walk, and then 1 mile again. Want to try it outside as it is starting to warm up here in Michigan.

Awww, thank you!!!! No secret really, I am still drinking a Protein Shake for Breakfast and one for lunch then Protein for dinner like chicken, turkey or eggs. I spend at least 2.5-4.5 hours in the gym 4-5 days a week. I usually do an hour and some change on the treadmill, a yoga class, a zumba class, a 30 minute strength training class, or Water aerobics. I lost a majority of it the month after my surgery..I am now averaging 3 #'s a week loss now. It has def slowed down but would love to be at goal weight by August 1st. Thanks again for the compliment!!!

My weight loss has certainly slowed. It took me about 40 days to loose the last 10 lbs, which was frustrating. It's still coming off, though! I'm wondering about doing a few liquid days to jump my metabolism again or to take in more calories for a few days. Has anyone tried either of these?

Hello all you November sleevers! Has anyone really slowed down at this point? I have so much more to lose and at the rate I'm losing at now it will take a VERY long time to get there. I'm stressing because I hear that most weight is lost within the first year after surgery. I'm only losing 1-2 lbs per week (sometimes less) and still need to lose 60 more. Are any of you in this situation? Should I try to go back liquids for a bit or increase calories for a bit? I hear suggestions for both, just don't know which works.

1-2 lbs per week sounds good! Most ppl wish they could hit that number. How far in are you? I am 5 months in and hit the half way mark of my goal this morning. That gives me another 7-13 months to do it

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
