I was also given liquid lortab to take at home and it worked fine to manage my pain. About the hugging--like someone else said, they may notice you carrying yourself differently if nothing else--I honestly can't remember if hugging hurt, but I do remember it being somewhat painful to lie on my stomach--not unbearably so, but I went ahead and slept on my stomach/back. Hope this helps.

I had a pain pump at the hospital and they sent me home with Lortab liquid. The first dose I took gave me dry heaves because I had so little in my stomach. Try to make sure you get some broth or Jello in your system before taking the first dose.

I took dilaulid through an IV while in the hospital. My surgeon had me try Lortab because that is what they normally send people home with. Well it made me throw up instantly because it tasted so bad. So my surgeon asked me what I would like to take home with me. I asked for something solid rather than liquid . He said that Tylenol 3 and dilaulid came in very small pills. I chose the dilaulid. It's easy to swallow and works great! I recommend asking your surgeon for this. If it makes you nauseous ask for a prescription for zofran also .

I have had a lot of surgeries in my life and this by far was the most painful and longest recovery. That being said I only took my Lortab ( liquid pain killer ) as needed for the first 3 days. After that I didn't need anything. That isn't to say that I didn't have any pain but it was tolerable.

I an allergic to Vicodin so they gave me something called Nucynta. I'd never heard of it, but boy does it work! It's a teeny tiny pill so I never had any trouble swallowing it.

When I had my lapband I hardly had any pain and only used the Loratab elixir for one day but for some reason when I got my sleeve done August 1st the pain has been much worse for me I'm actually still taking my pain meds but I've reduced the dose to very little.

Great question, I'm a total baby when it comes to pain and will take whatever they give me!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
