Hi everyone I am new to this site and I am liking it very much so far.

My name is Sherri and I had my surgery July 24, 2012. I went to the pre-op seminar June 6th, met the surgeon June 11, did labs same day, met the nutritionist on June 12th had endoscopy June 15 started the Ketosis diet June 17th had follow up appt June 22 and was down 9 lbs.I joined the gym June 30th and started my new way of living. Went back to eating regularly until my Pre-op appt with the nurse and the nutritionis on July 11, on July 12th I started my 14day pre-op diet and I had my psych evaluation. On July 13th had a follow up endoscopy due to ulcers being found on the first one, I successfully rid myself of them by following what the Dr had told me to do and taking meds he prescribed. July 19 my final pre-op visit with the nurse and was down 6 more lbs. The day of surgery went well and my only complaint is the JP Drain, had I known about it sooner I seriously might have considered the Band surgery instead. It was awful when they removed it. Well its 9 days post surgery and I am down 27 lbs total since start of my journey. But I AM HUNGRY and I have 6 more days of this liquid diet. Any comments or suggestions on how everyone else feels and if hungry what are you doing about it. I also have been going to the gym every other day.

I had surgery on July 3rd, and happy to report I had no complications, and very little pain at all. To date, I have lost 27lbs so far (10 pre-surgery). I feel as though I am stalling. I just started an intense fitness regimen, so hopefully, I will start to see more weight come off.

Hi Everyone!

I was sleeved on July 17th. Down 18lbs so far. I wish it was more but I'll take that. I've noticed that the more you weigh, the easier it is to drop the weight at a rapid pace. With that being said, for those of us who are under 250lbs weight loss is going to be a little more of a challenge. Don't give up just keep at it and you will prevail! (I have to tell myself this everyday). Good luck to you all~!!

Omg you guys! I am on day 2 post op and the gurgling and nauseated feeling and almost "spasms" in my stomach when I swallow anything is driving me crazy! Please tell me this will pass soon!

It will pass. Your body is trying to figure out what just happened and so feeling nauseated and having gurgling is just your body's way of figuring out how much room to give when consuming food & beverages. Not to be gross, but my gurgling turned into full blown runs for about a week after surgery. The nausea still happens from time to time. Just make sure you are taking it very slow and sip don't gulp (you don't want more air in your tummy). To prevent me from vomiting, my doctor gave me Levsin. It was a life saver the first week and a half.

I had this too. Even a tiny sip and I would feel gurgling and bubbles going up and down my throat and stomach. Now 9 days post-op it's not as bad. Only happens if I sip too fast. I still feel it but the feeling isn't as intense. Noise is still there!

I was sleeved July 10th. I'm down 19 #'s and doing good. I am now on puree and coming up with a few ideas to keep myself from getting bored with what I'm eating. another week or so and I will be on regular food and boy am I ready. I will start working out tomorrow as I just have not had a lot of energy but I figure I have to start sooner or later so I start now. Congrats to all July sleevers. We're finally on the losers bench!

Five days out and looking good! Very little pain. Some gas. Some bloating from all this liquid we have to get in... No regrets and not looking back!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
