At What Weight Limit Did You Say "you Have Had Enough"?

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone!! I just wanted to see from everyones experience when was their "enough moment"?

Mine was when when I reached 289 I was like wowwww :o this cant be me?!?! It was like I knew my clothes sizes where getting bigger but I didn't want to except it. You know? Has your S/O ever answered this question like this "Honey I shouldn't have dried that shirt it shrunk" he says "maybe its not the shirt maybe you have gotten bigger" Damn when he said that I was like thats it for me something has to change. So I decided enough is enough and I need more help!!! Looking forward to hearing everyone else's too.

There was no weight. It was my inability to maintain a healthy weight. Bouncing up and down the scale for years and years.

Plus, my Old Navy starting fitting wrongly and so that was it for me because I refused to bump up to the next largest size.

For me it was less about the number and more about how things suddenly started getting really hard to do. I was having trouble tying my shoes, bending down to pick up dropped items, and even..uh..having trouble wiping myself thoroughly. lol. TMI, I know, but that was the big one. That was when I knew I had to make a serious change asap!

20 years unable to get below 220 and easily gaining 30 lbs in a year. Fearing the next 20 years, and the next 30 lbs. Highest known weight was 269. Learning about the sleeve was the answer, for me.

I would always be bouncing back from 10 lbs up and down. They don't even have plus size in Old Navy over here anymore. Little Rock, Arkansas to say the least.

It was when I was rambling around in my closet I found my favorite pair of jeans that had mysteriously disappeared about a year before.

I went to try them on and the suckers wouldn't go up past my thighs. Anyways a lot of tugging and pulling later, I managed to pop all of the belt loops! I am so stubborn! :)

I was mad, and in denial, so I went to weigh myself, which I hadn't done in a whiiiiile.... and it was 248. Its the highest I have ever been! That was in January and I have been eating right and exercising and in May, only managed to lose 4 pounds. Then I decided on VSG!

I was 255. But it wasn't the weight that gave me the shock I needed - it was getting diagnosed with diabetes. I had the surgery within a month.

weight had been getting worse over last 2 years put on 20 more pounds. recently a friend came over with her kids and we're all sitting around. the boy looks at me and tells me i remind him of the lady in Bridesmaids Melissa McCarthy. Don't get me wrong I love her acting. I just don't want to admit i'm getting that big. While he meant my loud mouth and laugh that is NOT the first thing that I thought of.

This boys mother had a complete bypass and lost over 150 lbs. since she is the only person i ever knew who had weight loss surgery it seemed more feasible for me, especially whenI realized i didn't have to be on death's door to ask for help before this got completely out of control.

I ballooned up to 290 lbs, and when I saw myself in a mirror I didn't even recognize myself anymore. I knew I had to do something, not only did I look bad, I felt physically horrible. My knees & back ached and my eating was out of control. This was the best decision I could have made for myself.

That's always scared me too I mean I am obese but their is nothing else. Agrravting in a way because maybe it could have been fixed but all my blood work came back fine.

I had a moment like that I don't think anyone means wrong but it's my insecurities that kills me.

When my Weight Watchers leader told me the program wasn't working for me and I needed to try something else. I had already tried Nutrisystem, Adipex, Phen Phen, Atkins, south beach, cabbage Soup, slim fast meals, and the blood type diet. I needed something REALLY different. I found it!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
