I literally just came home with $5 one from Walmart exercise section. It was recommended by another poster.

I'm also in search of one but am getting a bit confused as i research. i'm not looking to wear something everyday all day...i'm not concern with rolls...what i am looking is something to work out in and train/reshape by body(mid section). so i'm torn between a c-section garment or a exercise waist slimming belt. my stomach giggles at Spanx.

i tried the Walmart slimming belt preop and it was too snug. i said i was going to go to sport authority and see what they have.

any ideas are greatly appreciated.

it was recommended to me by another poster to wear after surgery. helps you move around in bed, sit up, etc.

Hi ... So I'm confused .. Why do you need a binder.... Can I wear my Spanx or do i need something tighter??????

Queenlylocs, I'm not sure that anyone really *knows* what kind of Shapewear is best, or how effective it will be. Just like everyone loses weight differently, people's skin may shrink back (or not shrink back) differently. For me personally, I am looking for something that will have firm enough support to really suck everything in (after the tenderness of the incisions has subsided), and I plan to wear it as much as possible. I probably won't wear spanx because I don't like how they feel on and mine always tend to roll down at the top. I'm sure there isn't really any comfortable shapewear, but there's got to be something I can stand better than spanx...

Good luck, all. I'll let you know if I find anything great. I'm going to check out the Gabrialla Breathable Elastic Abdominal binder for Women that scubadottie found on Amazon...

Is using a belly binder new after WLS? It seems to have become a big topic lately. How well is it working for people? Long term results?

I used an ace bandage for first week. I thought it was a godsend!

It made it so much easier to sit up for longer periods as well as get in & out of bed.

I did research a lot of different types but ended up going with something simple.

I am never gonna look at a woman again without wondering what kind of contraption she is using under her cloths & what she would look like if it wasnt there.

lol believe me its not magic. tried Spanx. sucks. they sorta spread out the fat so you don't see lumps. i think i'd rather have the lumps.

pretty sure it was invented by the same person who decided women should wear panty hose, underwire bra and foot binding for tiny feet. sadistic sob :)

if you see a woman and she is wearing such a contraption admire her for her inner strength and her willingness to submit to torture for your viewing pleasure :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
