I Was Sleeved On The 27Th Of June And Yesterday I Found Out I Have A Hiatel Hernia

I had this burning sensation and it felt as if my ribs were being punched by my stomach. So i went to the kaiser ER in Irvine and they found out 10 minutes after mt CT scan that I have a Hiatel Hernia. I am a little scared of whats to come next and wondered if any of you have advice for me or have experienced this or any complications. I followed the liguid stage almost perfectly but never over ate. I am now on the soft foods stage and it is really strange to go through.

I'd be interested to find out what the doctor decides to do for you. I'm going thru a similar predicament. I had a hiatial hernia repair at the time of surgery and have developed major burning and acid reflux again at 11 weeks out. They did an xray and a barium swallow and said it looks like my sleeve is narrowning when I went in on Friday but I'm scheduled for a follow up EGD on August 10th.

Mine was repaired during surgery. Hiatal hernias are not typically repaired unless they are really big.
