I just got home..was discharged at 8pm. Had to fill my perk prescription...i am just really sore on my lower belly area. I had a total of 7 incisions but so far i cant tell a difference that 80% of my stomach is gone. I did chug Water by accident and i def felt that..was like a tight feeling. Overall i had a great experience in the hospital...no complications...no nausea and had a great nursing staff. I am super bloated from all the saline i was given though so i am not even going to weight myself till next week. My abdomen is bloated too from the gas but that hasn't been bad at all actually. Hope the other 9/3, 9/4 and 9/5's are doing great!

Did your doctor tell you how much of your stomach he removed? How did they decided? Just curious if they remove less are you less likely to have a leak? I am so nervous about my surgery. I am just thinking about all the bad stuff.

Actually i forgot to ask..i was thinking about that after i saw him yesterday. The day of surgery i was so out of it that he spoke to my mom and then saw me yesterday and he went over things. I am going to ask on my follow up next week to see how much they removed. I do know he said they switched to a 40 sized bougie because people were reacting better to it than the 32 bougie he was using. The difference between the two is only a few millimeters so i am not exactly worried.

Now i just have to focus on getting this gas out!! haha Seems to mostly be going south which im fine with but my abdomen is still all bloated so i haven't weighed myself since im sure i weigh more.

Day 3 post op...and i woke up feeling like someone punched me in the stomach...but its tolerable and they gave me perks. I figured the 3rd day would be the worse. I will say that i cant even tell they did anything to my stomach..the pain was all on the incisions. So far i am happy with my decision.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
