Honestly - nothing. I was too worried about a leak to cheat!

I didn't cheat either - it wasn't worth the risk of hurting myself, and with the nerves in your stomach not yet healed, your body can't give you good feedback if you're over-stressing your newly stitched-up stomach! It's only two weeks, and if you don't tolerate something well and heave it back up, think how hard that is on the surgical line. Please be careful folks! :(

Nothing week 2. Week 3 I had 2 bites of chicken. Regretted it because I shouldn't have but I didn't get sick at all.

No cheating for me, either. Didn't make sense to go through so much effort (major surgery) to risk the possible negatives associated with cheating.

I did not cheat. I was self pay and scared to death he would open me up and not complete the surg. Can't afford the risk.

I am very curious as to why people would risk their sleeve by cheating on the dietary plan given by their surgeon? I know that I was fearful of damaging my staple sline and I cheated with yogurt, but that was because of a discrepancy with Kaiser's dietary plan and the surgeon's dietary plan. I am really interested in hearing the rational that goes through our minds that contribute to us cheating. no judgements, just curious. Thanks everyone. :)

I also was too afraid to cheat. I was on straight liquids for 3 weeks post op - no yogurt, eggs, tuna, cottage cheese, NOTHING. I ate out with family several times during those 3 weeks and never once cheated. I was too afraid of damaging myself. Plus, I couldn't even meet my Water goal yet. I didn't want to force anything. It's not worth the risk IMO. You'll be able to eat soon. :-)

Im 15 days out and toying with puréed foods. First 13 days, just liquid!!

Now I feel well, no issues and puréed food keeps me satisfied longer than liquid.< /p>

There is no reason to 'cheat' call ur dr and see what you can do to help u tolerate the diet.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
