Are you drinking the Protein Shakes? I find the Protein Powder gives me horrible breath.

I had to really up the flossing and brushing...and tongue scrapping. I brush about 5x daily now, and even wipe down my upper pallette and cheeks with a very soft cloth.

Bad breath is a really, really common side effect of ketosis (your body being in a fat-burning mode). It's usually called "ketosis breath".

Yes. Actually, I felt like I smelled all over. It was partly ketosis, partly because I had a drain for a week and the rest was all Protein shakes.

I still am very careful to have a mint or something handy for when I finish drinking a Protein Drink. Those things are not fresh breath friendly.

I was wondering about this last night, you know it's bad when you can smell your own breath!!! YUCK!

The old dog breath. Pretty nasty.

I think combined with the three weeks of pureed and soft foods (ie: proving that man can live on Beans alone!!) that I am the perfect companion for a long car trip... in a small car... with lots of people... and a wet dog .... and broken power windows ....

Vegas anyone?????

Oh, the joy of ketosis. Good grief, just another thing to worry about, bad breath, losing your hair and your pants falling down. I am looking forward to them all ;)

So you brush a bit more ... no biggie and it is not permanent. Besides I only notice it once in a while. Others may be passing out, but heck that is their problem!

I looked into the hair issue pretty in-depth. I used to say, "I may be fat but I still got great hair." Which at 50+ is something. If you eat right it should not be a problem. I was really worried about this. I think as you feel less attractive because of your weight you develop new vainities - like my fabulous full head of hair. LOL

And remember a lady whose pants fall off... Well, that can be a real concersation starter depending on the circumstances. Great at a party, not so good in church!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
