BAH,,"the change" talk, it does not bother me much,,,I actualy ask my wife if she started it yet!!! LOL,,,(she's 5 years ollder than me)

Happy BANDIVERSARY,,,sorry to hear of your setbacks, but just like in the old movies (with people that are hystaricle, sorry for the spelling) take and slap yourself in the face, pick yourself up, bend at the hips with your head down,,,,,and BUL right through it!! You know what it is you gotta do,, you may have not hit YOUR goal,,,,but I'm sure your still much lower than your start weight,,,and that deserves a pat on the back....don't get all down on yourself, you did what you did and can't go back and fix it, but you can change what your going to do,,,,

good luck....

Congrats Lokiluvr on your band date. I wish you the best! That's going to be here so soon!

Hello Bandida. Funny....I read all the postings but, never have anything exciting to add so I just peek in. I think I even started the thread hahaha.

Anywho...I just hit my one year bandiversary on the 13th. I should be proud of all I've lost yet...I was so dissappointed I didn't get below 200 like I had hoped. Now...since the 5th I've gained 8 pounds. I'm going through some funky stuff with my body right now. My mom seems to think I'm going through the change...sorry lokiluvr probably not a subject you wanna hear about lol. Anywho....I hope things level back out and I start losing again. I can't stand the fact that the scale is going the wrong way. I'm not blowing it diet wise but yes I've had some bad choices lately. I guess the old mindset set back in after I didn't meet my goal. I'm in a bad place right now I guess but, I'll snap out of it. Working on that now actually :)

If you folks are from Western Mass you must have gotten a bit of snow aye? We haven't gotten much this way yet. I'm still waiting for that one big storm :) I do love New England :)

Hi Sherry! Any news is good news...I'm just glad someone else from MA is around all the people I talk to (except loki) are all from like Oklahoma and Texas...and that's pretty far out..lol!! I know some of you got together a ways back and I'd love to see it happen again so maybe I can come out..Just a thought...anyway, Congratulations on your Bandiversary. I don't thik you should be hard on yourself. You should very proud of the weight you did lose and the will power it took. I'm only a month in and it's a struggle every day...I think you are doing an awesome job and deserve praise for all the hard work you've put in the last year. Nobody said this was a cure, it's a tool and it takes time to master it. Keep up the good work and it wil happen!!!! Thanks for stopping by and come back soon...I love to hear about everyones progress!!!!

Where I live, we got mostly ice and rain, but we are due for some "snow" today...YUCK!!!!!:) I love three out of the four seasons...Winter is really not for me...

Blessings!!!!

Olga

Hi All. I'm also from Massachusetts and just starting proceedings. All I have left is to wait the results of my sleeptest. If all goes well, I'll be having my surgery at Norwood Hospital with Dr. Adam Glasgow. They have support meetings in their office an evening every month. One minute I'm very nervous, the next, I'm very excited!

:help: Is it normal to feel anxious one minute, Excited the next, second guess your decision, then know that you're doing the right thing and excited again? I've thought long and hard about this and know I am making the right choice, but still my emotions go back and forth.

Thanks for the support Lokiluvr and Bandida I appreciate it.

We're getting snow right now here in Eastern Ma. I live in Taunton, it's about 40 min South of Boston and 30 min N.East of Providence, RI.

As far as a rollercoaster...YOU BETCHA it happens to I'd say 98% of the people preparing for banding. I was really worried about 2 days before surgery. Is this the right thing...what the hell am I doing to myself....why can't I just behave and diet properly so I don't have to do this drastic thing...Why this or that and how come me? Well.....I cried over it....then got up said you know if you could do it on diet alone you would of done it...this is a tool, you're still going to have to work for it, it's still YOU that is making things work but now you'll have the help you need to keep going. (For me I'd diet great for 3 weeks, hit a plateau for a week, then the same plateau would start the 4th week and that was it, I stopped the diet cause it didnt work) No longer would I be able to just "give up". This tool wasn't going to allow me to totally blow it. So the night before surgery after my "self pep talk" I went to sleep and woke up bright and early and ready to go. 1 hour...that's it 1 hour in the OR and I was done and on my way to losing. I haven't looked back since...I'm still happy with my band. I'm going through a little gain right now because my body chemistry is off but, I know I'll lose it again. I'm still loving my band and looking forward to a smaller me :)

Congratulations on your banding paths and journeys. I wish you all the best and I hope you're all doing well and shinking :( Now take it easy in the snow hee hee

Sherry - support is what we come here for!! i'm glad I could be here for you!!!!:(

I agree with both Sherry and Loki...it is a rollercoaster ride!! :) I went through the same thing a few days before my surgery..shhh...do you know that I even wrote a goodbye letter to my family. Yeah, I was scared and excited, nervous and worried...I didn't know what to think!!! But my faith, my husband and my children (believe or not..lol.) helped me keep me focused..I did this first for me and then for them.. I want to be healthy and strong for all of US..So, yes, I'd say it is "normal" in Bandland...lol!!!:P We are here for you Cidnyluhu!!! Congrats on your decision to be a healthier you and Welcome!!! keep your thoughts positive and positive things WILL happen!!! Keep me posted on your journey and your success!!!! Blessings!!!

Hey Threebeauties, so glad to hear someone had surgery with Dr. Glasgow! I haven't been able to attend a support group meeting yet, but I'm just happy to know they are there. I'd like to go to the next one, since everything is moving along now. Just awaiting that one test result, and hopefully get me date soon. I can't wait!! Hope to see you at a meeting. Thanks everyone for the encouragement. I can tell already that I'll like this talk forum. Good to know there's a place to go for encouragement!!

Ohhh before surgery I wrote letters to my husband, son and mom. You just never know with any surgery or anytime they put you under. I told my family I wanted them to read them while I was in the hospital either way because it came from my heart. :)

First of all - CONGRATS JIM!!!!!!!!!! I know you have been waiting for SO long to get your approval, and your date. I am so excited for you!!!!!

Bandida I read this thread too, but don't always have time to post. But I'm definitely reading and I hope you and Jim maybe will be able to make the next group getogether that we have. :)

Cindy - yes it is a rollercoaster all the way. It's not an easy decision, but if you're ready to make the necessary changes in your life then you will not be dissapointed. I've been banded less than six months and while I am thrilled with my decision, I can tell you that sometimes it is still a rollercoaster ride. But what's important is that you don't give up! Congrats!

Hello,

My name is Sherri and I'm from Plymouth, Ma. I finally have my surgery date, March 19th. It will be a long day! I have to be at Beth Israel at 6:00 a.m. and I live two hours from the hospital! UGH!! I just can't wait to get this done. I feel like I've been waiting for so long. Of course, I have my nervous moments! I'm not as nervous for the surgery as I am after the surgery. The thought of not eating drives me crazy! What if I'm craving food and I can't have it...will I go nuts???? AHHHH

Anyway, I'm looking forward to my surgery and having this website to come to for advice!! I will need it!

Sherri

Congrats on your band date Berry! I had my surgery at BIDMC and they were great. I will not lie - the first week or so is tough. But you'll get through it (without going crazy! lol) and it will all be worth it!! Best of luck!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
