June Sleever's - July

Recommended Posts

Blondeej gave me an idea when she started the new thread for those of us in a stall. How about one of us starts a new thread each month as a cental locale for us all to hang out and chat? We could title it like I did this one, June Sleever's - July. Next month will be June Sleever's - August and so on. That way, it will keep one thread from becoming too long.

So, how is everyone doing and what's going on in your world? I am finally feeling "normal" with the exception that I can no longer stuff my face with a ton of food. I've had a lot of issues with pain but that has now resolved so I am looking forward to starting an exercise regime....at least a cardio one. I'm not sure I'm clear for weights yet. I have my 6 week follow up on July 18th so I will be sure to find out then.

I hope all you other June girls and guys (or is it just our one guy, Dadto2?) are doing well.

Great idea Amy! I'm 3.5 weeks out and in the purée stage. Everything is going well... Building up my time on the treadmill, getting my fluids & Proteins in. I can't wait to be able to be back to regular foods so I can get back to a more social routine... I've avoided a few larger events when I was on liquids... Plus I still get tired at times. It's not constant but it does sneak up on me and I just have to take a nap. Hopefully exercise will help build my stamina back up.

P.S. love your blog!

Thanks for the props on my blog. I am documenting the heck out of this journey and my blog is just one of those ways. I've always wanted to do a blog, but never had a real reason to or enough subject to fill one. Now I do and I'm loving it.

I'm glad to hear you are doing so well. It really sounds like you are well on your way to a new and healthier you. I'm dealing with some knee pain due to the increased use and abuse of my knees trying to protect my sore abdominals. I need to get into an orthopedic soon to see what's up with them and to get his/her advice about what types of cardio I'm okay to do and when. I'm sure I have some degenerative issues due to the increased weight on them, but I don't know if I've permanently done any damage to them or just aggravated them. I sure don't want to do any exercise and cause myself further issues so I will hold off until I can get the advice of a orthopedic physician.

I look forward to getting to know you and our other fellow "Junies" and following everyone's journeys.

Take care!

This is a very good idea. It does get hard to wade through all of the posts in the longer threads. I'm just beginning week two after my surgery. I just started full liquids. I had thinned grits as SOON as I got home from the doctor's office. I thought I had died and gone to heaven finally having something that wasn't BROTH! If I NEVER see plain broth again, it will be too soon.

Great idea! I was sleeved June 14th & heading into 2nd week of purée. Had a hard time getting in my Protein yesterday---was running around until 10:00pm & had forgotten to bring my shake mix so having a shake for Breakfast as I type this! I'm feeling pretty good....trying to keep up on fluids especially in this HOTTTT 100+ degree weather we're having! Just got on the scale today & I'm down from 229 to 200.2 =). I wish everyone success! This forum has been very helpful/encouraging on some cloudy days!

I was sleeves June 26. I have lost 12 kilos or 26 lbs.

3 and a bit weeks out. On mushy- soft food. Over refried beans!

My main issue ATM (other than complications healing from open hernia surgery) is feeling like eating. I don't. Still using Protein shakes at least 2 x per day. If I just had those 2 shakes plus Water and icy poles, I would be perfectly happy!

Forced a couple of bites of greek yogurt at lunch time with One of those cheese triangles with a cow on it. Also 2 bites of fish and 2 bites of potato at dinner.

How are you guys doing? NUT wants me to get more food in.....

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
