Howdy!

I'm in (far north) Dallas!

Just starting my journey and hoping to get insurance approval (Aetna) by early to mid October. Had my first consult with Dr. Kim on June 15 and will have my first NUT appointment on July 19th.

I'm in downtown Fort Worth. I was sleeved 6/28 in Mexico by Dr. Kelly. I don't have many friends in the area, so I would love to meet people close to me.

For those of you Texans that have been sleeved already, how is it going???

It's going great for me so far! (Knock on wood)...I got sleeved on 6/25 by Dr. David Kim at Baylor Trophy Club.

No complications at all and I was walking 1.5 miles 2 days after surgery! Today, I walked 4 miles!

I don't know how you can get all of that walking in without getting dehydrated. I was walking about 2 miles a night the first few days, but I had to give that up due to sweating out all my fluids. You have ur first follow-up yet?

I'm doing really, really well. I could have gone back to work within 3 days of surgery, but I'm trying to take it easy. I'm going to send a you a message with my number. I'd love to keep up with people close to me if you are interested.

I had my follow-up on Tue 7/3 and they were really pleased. I haven't had dehydration issues as I've been able to handle 48-60 ounces of liquid daily....mostly Water plus my Protein Shake. I try to keep a 20 oz cup of ice water with me at all times and I just keep sipping and re-fill when necessary.

Also a lot of us DFW folk that have (or will soon!) Dr. Kim as their surgeon :) I start my 3-month insurance approval track as of July 19. Hoping to get approved and sleeved sometime in October!

It's fun to read about all the success stories. Glad you are all doing well after surgery!

Hi, I'm from Beaumont and 3 days out doing pretty good!
Im from West Houston near Katy
I'm in Katy, too! Surgery was June 15 and I'm feeling pretty good now!

Moved to Katy from Beaumont last year. I have my surgery on 8/13 with Dr. Alvarez. So glad to connect with others. Nervous and very excited! My good friend from the Beaumont area had surgery a year ago and is doing wonderfully. She keeps telling me, "it is gonna change your life!"

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
