How do you feel? He seems great' date=' he did my endoscopy last week, very cool and collected.[/quote']

Sorry didn't see this...I never expected to feel even half as great as I did! Absolutely NO gas pain at all! Incision healed wonderfully. Pain that I did have in hospital was managed very welland at home as well. Dr. Ram is awesome! I had a great experience, seriously.

Philly hey' date=' counting down until July 22.[/quote']

I had a successful sleeve procedure. I also had a wonderful experience at Temple University Hospital with Dr. John Meilahn and his staff. While waiting to go to the OR when folks knew you were his patient they had wonderful things to say about him.

Happy to be on the other side!

Good luck. Keep me posted on how you do. It's nice to see someone else close by going through this also!!

If there is anyone from the Lancaster area, I would like to maybe get together and help each other stay motivated...anyone interested?

This sounds like a good idea. I love Brader's support group, but there's only a few of us who have sleeves. I'm doing reasonably well - he won't give me a weight goal for my 6 months since I'm already there (yay, but I need a target, so onederland it is!), but I'm struggling with meal planning and recipes. And can always use a workout buddy.

Good luck everyone!

East of Scranton/Wilkes-Barre here! I just started working with Dr. Neale in Wilkes-Barre. I'd love to see an online support group for this specific area. Maybe even a Neale/Gerhart group? I live pretty far away so going to the support group is not an option. If any of you have ever been to the Pocono region, you know everything is far away! Happy to see this thread :)

was sleeved 12/13/12 by Dr. Boorse at LVH and have lost just over 200 pounds! Great guy, great hospital. Easy for me to say because everything went smoothly the entire way. Not one single complication or annoyance....I can't say enough about my experience there. My insurance did not cover any of the surgery and the hospital was wonderful to deal with to work out payment schedules. I hope this helps anyone just starting the process.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
