A Couple Of Book Recommendations

My psychiatrist at the psych eval recommended 3 books for me to read (since I love to read) in order to help me get the most information possible to support me pre and post surgery. If anyone else is interested here they are:

  1. Weight Loss surgery for Dummies (I am sure a lot of you have already read this book)
  2. The End of Overeating: Taking control of the Insatiable American Appetite by David A. Kessler, MD (This is more just an educationonal book on why we eat the way we do, why we dont seem to have the control over our eating sometimes to stop eating the bad foods. Very interesting and a good read) I found this book on ebay for $3.75!
  3. The Emotional First+Aid Kit: A Pratical Guide to Life After Bariatric Surgery by Cynthia L. Alexander, PsyD (This is for those of us who may need a few tools on how to handle things after surgery. It helps us to prepare mentally before surgery and gives us some tools to help)

Just thought I would share. I think people should be well informed before having any kind of surgery.

Nichole :)
