Is your Protein Powder flavored, because if it is that might cause problems. Just take your time your sleeve might not be ready for that kind of Protein. If the puree isnt going well then retreat back to Clear liquids and try again in a week or so. Try sugar free pudding and Jello and mix your powder with that. What exactly happens when using the powder, vomiting??

Hi all,

I'm a May 17, 2011 sleever.

I didn't loose as fast as some, but slow and steady got me there. I was a relative lightweight -222 the day before surgery, so I got to goal in 9 months.

For those of you with hunger, some people do feel hunger right away, but make sure it is not an acid issue. Does the Dr. have you on an acid-reducer? If not and you are hungry, I suggest calling and seeing if they will prescribe one. It may make a difference for you.

For those having problems with Protein powder, one I like is powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chicken. It was the only one I tolerated well at first. Fat-free greek yogurt is another good source of Protein. I liked it made into a shake:

1/2 cup greek yogurt (more when you can eat more - I use a cup now)

1/8 cup OJ

1/4 cup Water

3 Tbsp. Splenda

2 frozen strawberries

Blend until smooth. Yum!

I'm so excited to be able to offer advice. The sleeve has been a lifesaver for me. I can't believe it's been a year and I'm at goal and seeing many others join the losers' bench!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
