Hello Everyone,

My name is Kathy and i had the Vertical Sleeve Gasrectomy on May 21st, I am wondering what types of Protein is best to use because the one i bought doesn't really taste great and I would much rather not have to mix anything...Is there something pre-mixed that any of you can recommend? Other than that i feel pretty good i have been walking around with no problem...I walk up and down my street a few times a day....I look forward to chatting with all of you and good luck on your journey to a healthy life...

Hi there sleeve sister! Also sleeved may 21. For powders, I'm really liking the fruity ones from Syntrax Nectar. Added to Water it's more like juice and has over 20g of Protein in a scoop. For pre mixed, I do Isopure zero carb in alpine punch. But not everyone enjoys them. You can buy individual ones at Vitamin Shoppe if you want to try. Also chocolate EAS Advantedge from Sams Club. Good luck!

Congrats Kathy! The 'ready to drink' drinks that I have tried are very sweet so I mix in a little milk or coffee with milk. PureProtein, Myoplex Light and MuscleMilk Light are not bad. I usually mix my own drinks with a chocolate, vanilla or unflavored Protein Powder. Most of them are good. I just didn't like Syntrax Nectar despite all of the rave reviews! Good luck!! :)

Congrats!! I really enjoy the EAS chocolate fudge Protein Shakes that have 42g of Protein. They are a little high in carbs but I get half of what I need in the bottle. Good luck!!

I like the cytosport whey Protein clear drink in the tropical flavor. Its an already mixed clear drink more like a juice. Its 0 carbs, 0 calories and 32g protein. It kind of reminds me of a margarita. I get it at the Vitamin Shoppe

I love the Isopure powders...you have to mix with Water but they mix really easily (I just shake them in a covered cup). I love the chocolate, Cookies and creme and mint chocolate chip. I buy mine on Amazon.com

Hi Kathy

Congrats on the surgery!

I use the premier shakes from costco (both vanilla and chocolate). I hope that this helps!

Hello~

I really, really like Oh Yeah chocolate milkshake flavor. You can buy the RTD or powder and it is delicious. I get mine from Netrition or Amazon. I also use unjury unflavored to add to food or drinks.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
