marilyn1022 reacted to chitowngirl in Not Losing Sizes FastIve lost 50 pounds and my pants are just starting to look ridiculously big on me. I think the whole plus size thing there really so much room to fluctuate in the clothes. From what I understand once you hit the smaller sizes you will drop sizes quick. I know I can't wait to get there either.....come on single didget sizes.

marilyn1022 reacted to Lissa in My Clothes Are Falling OffTeach, I've been slowly letting go of my clothes, but just this past weekend, I finally went through and was ruthless about it. I had kept some of the bigger t-shirts and stuff, but they are all in my Goodwill box now. I didn't keep mine as much because I thought they'd ever fit again, Heaven forbid! But because I thought they'd make great junk t-shirts or sleep shirts. One of them fell off me over my shoulders last week while I was pressure washing the house and eliminated that thought!
I'm 9 months post-op, if that gives you any idea of how long it has taken my mind to catch up to my body. And, I'm still waiting for security to come escort me back to the plus size section every time I go clothes shopping!

marilyn1022 reacted to MamaM in A Month And About Two Weeks Out Feeling StrangeI would call my surgeon tomorrow, if I were you.
It could be a complication and you don't want to let it go too far if it is. Not saying it is but you don't want to take any chances.
Good luck and feel better!

marilyn1022 reacted to slimthickens in 11 Days Post-Op And Feeling Great. It's hard to believe that I had major surgery just a little over a week ago. My incisions are completley healed and I have no more pain or discomfort of any kind. I am getting in my water and protein and I am almost never really hungry. I have had a couple of bouts of head hunger but nothing I couldn't get through by simply changing my thoughts to something else. The only real difficulty has been getting through the phases of diet progression. I really want something solid to eat like crackers or cheese in my belly...lol The other thing I've noticed is that the thought of sweets turns my stomach! I want savory things instead. I think it has to do with the fact that everything I'm eating now has a sweet flavor-puddings, yogurts etc. And don't even get me started on those nasty sweet flavored protein drinks!!!!! I can't stand protein drinks anymore...lol But its a small price to pay for good health so I gripe and complain but still follow the rules. I've lost 10 pounds in 11 days so I'm not complaining.

marilyn1022 reacted to fattymcfatterson in Suggestion For Unused Cpap Machines..I was recently asked if I could find a place to donate a used CPAP machine that someone had. I called a friend of mine who is the director of a free health clinic in my town and I also called my respiratory therapist. They both said donated CPAP's are like GOLD for people on Medicaid/Medicare or have no insurance. Apparently there are many people in nursing homes who could really see improvement if they had a CPAP. So, my goal is: to have my insurance pay for my cpap, use it religiously, get my sleeve, get off it, and donate it. IF you are done with yours and it is just taking up space, please consider donating it to someone who could really use it to change the quality of their life.
