Dr. Alvarez

My surgeon hasn't even submitted my paperwork to the insurer yet because I have one more visit to go. But, just in case, I'm already thinking of Plan B 'cause a woman's gotta do what a woman's gotta do!

Can anyone who has used Dr. Alvarez in Mexico give me their experience with his office? Thanks for any information you can provide!!

I will be sleeved by Dr Alvarez on 12/21... 35 days from today! Reading these glowing reviews gives me so much comfort. I have never had surgery before so I am nervous about everything-- the pain' date=' the nausea, going under, coming out, the gas, the entire experience. At the same time I am ANXIOUS and just ready to get to post op already.

I think a great benefit is that I have been a lowcarber for years, lots of paleo eating as of late. I'm just flabbergasted at how I can eat so clean but still lose so little and feel like I am fighting for every single ounce and the SECOND I put something into my mouth that is off plan, i bloat up. Ridic! I'm ready for this! I'm ready for my good choices and hard work to actually produce some results.[/quote']

U will do great, u chose well , he will take care of as well as his staff. Good luck to u

I'm in Eagle Pass.... Rosie will be here at 7:20 a.m. A little nervous but more excited! ! Can't believe it's finally happening.... I will update when I can.

How was the drive to Eagle Pass? I'm so excited for you. I will be in your shoes in 7 weeks. I am getting sleeved on a Friday too. I hope you rest well tonight! Good luck tomorrow!

Just wanted to say thanks to all of Dr A's patients. Your posts have been a comfort. After fighting my weight for 40 years I am scheduled for 1/19. Starting a pre-op diet now and working with PCP. He said the better shape and cleaner diet I have had before diet the better results and better recovery I will have. Good luck everybody!

Good luck on your journey pappabear! You have chosen your surgeon well.... Both him and his staff are wonderful.

So very excited for all you new (and soon to be) sleevers! While the first few days are tough, the days get better quickly. I am four months out today and I feel GREAT! Dr. A is an amazing surgeon and he will truly take good care of you!

Tennis, you will be sleeved before you know it!

I am scheduled for surgery with Dr. Alverez on January 18th. I just mailed in my deposit yesterday. I am so nervous and so excited at the same time. I am hoping for a permanent solution to the ups and downs I have had over the last 20 years! I decided to start losing weight in September at 205lbs. I am 5'2", so that's a bmi of 37.5. I have lost 22 lbs and am down to 183, now my bmi is just above 33. I already feel so much better. It's hard to imagine getting to a "normal" bmi. Dr. Alvarez seems awesome and even though I am really nervous about my surgery, I feel good about my choice of surgeons!

How is everyone doing now? Still researching doctors and options but Dr A is at the top of my list.
I'm doing great !!! Couldn't have asked for a better surgeon and staff .... As of today I am 97 lbs down and 15 more lbs till I hit my goal !!!!
