United Healthcare - Still Waiting On Approval ...

I'm absolutely terrified that my insurance won't approve me! I'm a 39.1 BMI with plenty of comorbidities - but I'm still scared that since I'm not above a 40 they will turn me down : (

Are there any other United Healthcare folks out there? How long did you have to wait for approval? Are they sticklers for the 40 BMI?

I'm freaking out - it's been almost 2 weeks since my doctor's office submitted ....

Thanks!

I was given the green light about 7 months ago. I started the process and paid a ton of money in appointment and medicine. Yesterday was my surgery day August 24th but about a week before I was contacted by the health insurance that they were not going to pay for the surgery. I was on the phone daily even until yesterday trying to get my approval done but nothing was done. Emotionally Ibeen a mess and in all honesty to the point were I was feeling like if I was going to have a stroke. This insurance company is the worst I have ever seen. How can they play with your emotions, approve and then chose to say they wont pay for it 7 months of the most stupid process I have ever seen. At this point I am here seven months later and a day after my surgery appointment stress and with no operation. At this point I am in contact with a lawyer to take them to court for all the money I spent, time I took off and emotional issue I now deal with thanks to this company. To you moving forward I tell you to get as much in writing from them. This company all is does is charge your monthly fee for a insurance that they do not want to then pay for services. After researching I found out that they have a huge lawsuit in federal court. I have reach out to that same lawyer to see if they will represent me also.
