Still In The Hospital Is This Nightmare Ever Going To End?

Recommended Posts

I too was sleeved on 3-may-12. The first week I felt great and I thought this couldn't be easier. Then 10 days post things starting going down hill. I was readmitted to the hospital on 16-may with severe dehydration and Constipation. They put me on IV fluids and had me drink magneseum citrate to get my bowels moving. I was discharged on 18-may. That night I was discharged was tough. Things have been getting a little better day by day. I am still trying to figure out what I can eat/drink without causing my stomach and lower back to start having pains.

I don't know if it is the whey Protein or the Vitamins, but something doesn't agree with me after I take it. Trial and error will hopefully tell.

I never thought it would be so difficult to drink enough fluids.

I will be 3 weeks post op tomorrow.

When did most of you start feeling normal again?

I am sorry you are both having problems, and Jimmy is right. The power of the brain and positive energy can be miraculous. I hope you are both healing and back to great health very soon.

It very well could be the whey Protein. I can't do pure whey isolate. I bought an powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury sample pack and got it in the mail the other day. Tried one of the shakes and I only got a little in before I gave up and dumped it out. Try some other, soy or something, mix with Water or juice, not milk and see what happens. Couldn't hurt to try it. I read somewhere that new sleeves can have issues with milk products for awhile.

I'm not sleeved yet by the way.

Feel better!!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
