I was a little disappointed with the fact that next week I will be 1 month post op and I only lost 12 lbs. Then I refocused, realized I never lost that much that quickly and decided to focus on nsv's. I am down 2 sizes, my feet shrunk, my confidence is up, and lastly I went to the mall today for some shopping and for my daily walk and even got some admirers. Also for the first time in awhile I wasn't ashamed to be seen with my very thin sister!

You're doing good! Keep up the good work. You'll be thin before you know it.

Star,

I can totally relate, I too am a slow loser, but like you I had to give myself alot of pep talks. Also, I measured myself...a friend that had the surgery the same day as I lost 20 pounds in three weeks and ten inches and I lost ten pounds and 20 inches (six in the waist!). Soooooo...the scale is only half the story and inches the other!

I too am feeling better about myself...went shopping and bought once size down than before--Yay!

Slow loser here too, but you look fantastic and it sure looks like you've lost more! I just broke a two week stall where I lost no weight at all, but still dropped a full dress size. Betting you will have a similar experience!

You are doing awesome! Keep it up! Just wanted to tell you even tho you don't see it on the scale doesn't mean it's not working. I would always see it on my clothes then on the scale. I'm a year out and haven't lost anything since dec. but I've gone down 3 sizes. Just remember your body may be redistributing the weight. Good luck!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
