I don't have a pre op diet. I just can't eat past midnight night before surgery. I'm afraid I'm going to gain weight too because I stopped one of my meds and it can cause you to gain weight. I think I'm gonna do some mirolax or something couple days prior just to be safe.

I'm June 12. My doct only require that I do a low carb high Protein diet 2 weeks before. And liquids 48 hours before surgery.

I was told that patients whose BMI is over 50 are required to do the weeks of liquid diets. However, on my own this week I am working on replacing some meals with Protein Shakes. Just to help eliminate some of the shock my body is going to go through

Oh no guys I hope the date doesn't have to get pushed back. If so everything happens for a reason and in the end you'll still make it to the loser bench :)

I slipped and had some tilapia fish last night. But today I'm going to stick with liquid. I'm still eating watermelon though. I hope that's ok

June 14. Really anxious' date=' having trouble sleeping. Just still in the dark about a lot. No mention of a pre-op diet. Im doing self-pay since my insurance doesn't cover it, but now I'm wondering if I should ask my doctor to talk to them. Wondering if this will actually work or if I'm putting myself into debt for no reason. Ugghhhh! Trying to stay confident about my decision, but I'm worried about everything right now![/quote']

I'm also June 14th and self pay. I'm also very anxious. I have 5 day pre op diet. I don't meet with the nutritionist until June 5th to go over all that with me

Ok guys so this past week was hell. I received a call from my surgeons office on Fridays saying that my PCP hadn't cleared me for surgery because my blood/iron levels were low. Needless to say I was livid!!! So I spoke with my PCP and she told me it would be better to wait several weeks to build back up reserves....several weeks!!! I told her I still wanted it done in June and that I would do what I needed to' date=' to get my levels up, so I started taking my Iron pills twice a day along with eating red meat, liver veggies, raisins, and algae. Just had my blood drawn today wish me luck....tentative new date is June 11th

Hello to all the June sleevers and please come back here and keep us posted on your journey![/quote']

Everything will work out. I have a good feeling about it!

I started a semi pre-op diet today. I wanted to ease into it before the 5th. I'm starving!!! Typically, I'm fine but the shake made me hungry...

Watermelon is not good!!!! Unless ur doc said its ok most preop diets are low carb and watermelon has a high carb content...if u want to maximize ur weight loss I would cut out all fruits.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
