Powering Through Day Two Pre-Op Diet

Recommended Posts

Day two seems harder than day one. I can't stop craving Peanut Butter and jelly sandwiches. Hardest part is the caffeine withdrawal at this point and the headache. I am also battling a bit of a cold and stressed if it doesn't get better they will cancel my surgery. I decided to just rest when my toddler naps today and not run around and try and get everything done. Also if I sleep for a little bit, less time thinking of peanut butter haha. Hope everyone else that is on pre-op diet doing ok. I'll make it, but it is hard.

I was doing just fine after the first couple days and then yesterday (day 8 of two week diet) I got a text from Sonic an I've been craving it ever since. Can't get Sonic off my mind lol.

I'm on day 3 and I've lost 6.2 pounds already in two days. I'm happy about the weight loss but I'm soooo hungry and tired. :( I've been reading about liver shrinking diets. Some diets allow boiled eggs and small green salads. I wonder if I eat a boiled egg if it will mess anything up with the shrinking of my liver. Well, good luck... ! Heres to hoping it gets easier!! :)

I am on day 3 of my pre-op liquid diet. Surgery tomorrow.

I am actually doing much better than yesterday. But still craving a bacon cheeseburger something bad! Or chinese noodles (mmmm beef chow fun please!). But sipping my Water, drinking my broth & trying to focus on the surgery & how I will feel mentally after that.

Down 4 pounds! Day three was easier. I think I am over the worst with the caffiene. No headache tonight finally. I think my hardest part of the day is late afternoon. I start to lose a lot of energy and just want to get a quick fix with carbs and start to crave a lot of bread. I made it another day though. I had one minor cheat, but I wouldn't even call it that, it was One radish, so really....that is like 60% Water anyway, haha. Just needed something to chew for a second. I still feel like I succeeded for the day.

On day 5 of 14. Lost 8.6 pounds as of this morning. I'm so happy with the weight loss but more emotional today. :( I want food food food!!!! I so hate the Protein Shakes now. I'm tired of them. Can anyone tell me if there is anything else I can buy besides the shakes? ? I've tried powder, ready made and I gag from them. Yuck! Thanks everyone. I'm so glad I found this site so I can vent. Wouldn't be able to make it without you!! :)

I've been on a pre-op diet since 5/1 (10 days) and have lost 11 lbs. Some days I've been fine and some like today my stomach feels burning & growly, especially from about 2pm to bedtime. My diet is liquid & mushy, no sugar, no meat, no/low fat. My daughter broke her foot at school yesterday & I had to take her to dr, then hospital for x-ray, then ortho for splint b/4 cast. I wanted KFC so bad. I order the fam pizza Hut since it was almost 9pm when we got home. I had a Protein Shake. Good luck, I hope you get over your cold.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
