I took some tablets called Coloxyl with Senna. Available at chemist without prescription. Worked a treat :)

Morning everyone.

My 4 week post op update. I have lost 18kgs (7 pre op. 11 post op)

I am happy with my weight loss but really thought I would lose more. Might need to rethink my diet and do more exercise (I must admit I have been slack in that department) I find it hard working 4 days and with a 2.5 yo. Any suggestions?

I have the same problem, maxed out on the benefibre, maxed out on the coloxyl, used a suppository with limited success ( sorry everybody if this is too much info!). I am now on a mission to drink as much Water as I can today and see if that makes a difference! I have my 4 week appointment (which is nearly 5 weeks since surgery) tomorrow so will ask what they recommend. I know what they are going to say - not drinking enough! But I just find it so hard to get those fluids in and eat too!

I think you are doing great! I think we all have our expectations raised a bit. I know myself that I can't believe how little I eat so I expect the weight to be coming of in kilos per week! Just shows you how amazing your body is and how it can adjust to how little we are now taking in! I too have good intentions to go walking but haen't quite got back to my pre-op regime. I still feel I am lacking a bit of energy but that is probably just an excuse on my part! I have plenty of time to do it as I have taken 12 months off work and my son is at school! I promise next week I will get back into it!

Hi all...so started my pre-op diet officially this morning and am feeling GREAT...not that.i am loving the shakes lol but that it's the beginning of the end :) am counting down my 14 days now til surgery and I can't wait! My problem is that I am lactose intolerant and the shakes are causing me some problems in that area :( am going to call the NUt today to see what I can do...hoping to reduce to two shakes per day if possible to minimise my exposure to lactose and hopefully make the symptoms manageable but I will see how I go :)

That is a great achievement!!!! My surgeon thought is would lose about 15 kg or 10% of my weight in that first six weeks so I hope that is a good guide for you :) and you're only at 4 weeks! Don't stress :) if you are feeling good dont worry about it! Are you doing measurements too? See how you are going there! You might get a shock :)

Yeah I am having Optislim actually and I am really struggling with the shakes :( I kind of like the coffee ones and do like the strawberry but that is about it. I have added ice to them to try to make it easier and it does but it's still tough. I also can have two pieces of fruit, two jellies and 2 cups of veggies so will rely on that mostly. I am just waiting to talk to Taryn now :)

Okay so my NUT has given me the all clear to reduce the shakes to 1 n the morning and then to add 100 g lean Protein twice a day. Yay! So pleased as it was getting very unpleasant lol

Hi Susie

Great that you are getting the sleeve now ad congratulations on your previos success withthe band. I am sure you will be appier with the less complicated sleeve.

I took DGas with me to hospital but didn't need it.

Stock was allowed for me during pre-op. either home made or bought liquid or cube. I used to hae a cube in Water as a Soup. I was also allowed up to one cup berries per day which were nice blended into shakes and put into diet jelly for variety.

Were are you based?

I'm in Canberra so pretty small next to the Sydney and Brisbane siders! Although I'd love to hear from anyone else in the ACT.

Mmm diet jelly - I forgot these are allowed! Definitely going to get some of those made up :)

Feeling better flu-wise today and have started Optifast. They weren't as horrible as I remembered so that's good. Feel like eating but not because I'm hungry - this will be the hardest habit to break! But I'd rather lock it down now before the op :) just gotta keep on chugging along and have faith that this will all be worth it 6 months down the road.

Has anyone seen Michelle Bridges' "One Active" range at Big W?

Had a look at this over the weekend and I like what's available and it's all reasonably priced.

I wasn't in the mood to try anything on though.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
