My weight loss is obvious now and I getting a lot of positive comments.A bit too many at work actually but I figure that something more interesting will come along soon enough lol! And -yes-I am more visible to people generally. What is really unsettling me is the number of people and 'friends' who are congratulating me * then * bringing in entire cakes or chocolates or creamy pastries for me for no reason ( not a birthday or celebration). It is really' date=' really bizarre.[/quote']

I think that is some form of sabotage but don't take it personally because most people aren't even aware that they do it!

This weight/food issue runs deep with a lot of people!

Yes I am sure you are right Sue.I honestly don't think people in general are consciously aware of it.In fairness we do tend to Celebrate achievements with food. The attempted sabotage is definitely coming from a friend and one family member though.I am surprised by all the attention my weight loss is getting.Get a life people! Lol! Despite all this I am still steadily losing about a kilo a week.Love my sleeve :)

Would love to catch up but we are on the theme park pilgrimage with two 14 year old boys so it would be a rather early Breakfast with the whole tribe in tow! I will message you in the morning when I see how we are going. I am seriously going to try and get back up when you meet up in early October - my husband and I will sneak out of Sydney on our own!

Sounds like you are having a great time with your family. Enjoy!! Hopefully we will meet you on the Gold Coast on 5 October. That would be fabulous. Cheers Kelli

That's great news. the time will fly between now and then especially with 2 weeks ore-op. Where are you guys having it done now and by whom? Sydney' date=' Brisbane or Gold Coast?[/quote']

Thanks Kelli we will be having the surgery with Dr Phil Lockie at the North West Private Hospital in Brisbane.

Very excited Misty , we have been so lucky to have them work with us long distance pre opp. We have had all of our blood test's and barrier swallow etc over here and then sent back to Brisbane. So far the experience has gone really well. Especially because we are only 1 month out.

That's great. Do you have family or friends in Brisbane to support you both? If not I will be happy to come and visit you both or bring you anything you need during the couple of.nights you are in hospital. I live at The Gap which is only about 20 minutes drive from your hospital. Will you both have to do Optifast during 2 week pre-op?

On Saturday 5 October we are planning a get together on the Gold Coast where Lissa will be visiting on holidays. I have already had the privilege of meeting her when we both happened to be visiting Melbourne recently and I am sure there are many more of you who have followed her journey and would like to meet her in person. We are going to meet at a cafe called Providore at the Marina Mirage Shopping Centre at 11.00am. Let us know if you will be coming along.

You can get the train to the Coast but you need a car to get to Southport. Maybe you could come with me?

I will be there, I am very excited! There would be a bus from Helensvale station to Southport I think. If you saw a bus that said Seaworld on it that bus would go past Marina Mirage. I am sure you could google Gold Coast buses.

Misty I can go via Murrarie and pick you up. If anyone else wants a lift from Brisbane I have two other seats.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
