I am 14 days out today, tried to start puréed food. Mixed tuna with a spot of mayo and relish. Could only get 1 1/2 oz down within 15 mins, severe diarrhea and nausea with vomiting, then got really hot, sweaty and dizzy :( so much for that!!!!

that sucks. I hope you feel better soon.

Maybe you should nix the mayo and relish..maybe it was a little too soon for that.

I am pre-op but I took care of my mother who is about 6 weeks post op with gastric bypass and I know that she couldnt handle all the mix-ins that soon

try to take it slow

I know it sounds gross, but what I did for her was put some canned chicken breast and chicken broth in the blender and blended it really find and she did well with that. And I tasted it, it wasnt bad.... of course I am pre op so my taste buds are still in tact....

It sounds like you ate tooooooo fast. Slow down and keep your food simple for now. tuna might have been too soon and the mayo too rich. It gets easier as time goes on.... ;) Hope your feeling better.

You don't need 1.5 oz in one sitting this early. When I was at your stage, I'd have 1/2 a soft-boiled egg in one sitting.

I agree I think its either too much or too fast. I'm two weeks post op too and I can eat the Condiments but if I dont take at least 30 mins to eat it is not pretty, haha. My surgeon told me it should take at least 30 minutes to eat a meal and not more than 45 minutes (they don't like grazing lol) and that seems to work for me. Try stretching it to 30 minutes and maybe you'll find that you are feeling your full signal before you finish!

Good luck!!

One easy meal is get a can of chicken (light& dark meat) and add it to a can of chicken gravy, served on mashed potatoes. Its so soft and tastes good, and you're getting Protein from the chicken and the gravy is very low cal. I'm 4 weeks out and this is a staple and very tolerable.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
