Hi KSDallas...congrats on your upcoming July surgery! I went to Forest Park for my pre-op appointment this week and thought the facility and staff were very nice!

20 lbs! That would be awesome! I heard that many people lose a substantial amount of weight on the pre-op diet. I've been trying to eat healthy and cut back my coffee intake so that the pre-op diet isn't so dreadful. I'm struggling mentally though...I feel the need to splurge on all of my favorite foods before surgery. I know that it's not the last time that I'll get to eat these things, but I still feel like I will be giving them up forever! Hopefully I can stay focused so that I can lose additional weight before surgery.

Things are moving for me very fast now. I'll be sleeved by Dr. Kim June 7th in Decatur. Anyone else with Dr. Kim that day? I'm trying to figure out transportation since that's not really close to Carrollton.

I got the news today that I won't have surgery until July. My insurance requires a full 90 days with the nutritionist so instead of today being my last visit, I have one more at the end of June. I am a tad bummed but then again in the grand scheme of things it is only a couple of more weeks, so it's cool. Everything happens for a reason.

So I called his office and they told me that due to my age, they are going to waive the cardio lab work. I wonder if that is a good idea. I mean, I'm not 18. I hope this is normal. By the way, I finished my last final, and I would really like to grab that cup of coffee sometime early next week. I see that you've almost lost 60lbs! That is so wonderful, I am truly happy for you. How have you been feeling?

AWWW man, I totally missed this post!! Hit that quote button so I'll see it! I'm still up for it whenever!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
