My most humiliating moment has to be the day I had to ask for a seat belt extender on an airplane. I was on a work trip and sitting close to 5 of my co-workers. They were all very sympathetic but their pity made me feel worse. So embarrassing! Ugh...never again!

My doc said it was ok to use Mederma two weeks after staples are removed.

Thanks guys. Doctor said I was ok to take Benadryl and that I should drink lots of water. It's my nerves getting to me.

I've only had the bariessential shakes, broth and water for the past week an a half. I would think that if i was allergic then the reaction would have started sooner? I was tempted to take Benadryl but want to see what the doc says...

Anyone breakout in hives during the preop diet phase? I'm almost finished my two week diet...surgery is Monday. Woke up with hives everywhere this morning. I'm about to see the doctor but wondering if anyone else had this issue. I'm thinking it's from stress???

Today was my 2nd day of 14 on the all liquid diet. Ugh today was miserable. I'm praying that it gets better. I'm having a hard time concentrating at work and feel dizzy. Does the dizziness an headaches go away after the first week?

Hi KSDallas...congrats on your upcoming July surgery! I went to Forest Park for my pre-op appointment this week and thought the facility and staff were very nice! 20 lbs! That would be awesome! I heard that many people lose a substantial amount of weight on the pre-op diet. I've been trying to eat healthy and cut back my coffee intake so that the pre-op diet isn't so dreadful. I'm struggling mentally though...I feel the need to splurge on all of my favorite foods before surgery. I know that it's not the last time that I'll get to eat these things, but I still feel like I will be giving them up forever! Hopefully I can stay focused so that I can lose additional weight before surgery.

Hi! Is anyone available to meet up one night this week? I'm free Wednesday - Friday. Is a weekday evening ok? I typically don't leave work until 6:00. If not, maybe over the weekend? I don't mind driving if we can find a place that is convenient for everyone. Let me know and we can set something up!

Yes, great idea Tibbie! It would be nice to get a group together to discuss the surgery. I know I must be driving my friends and family crazy with sleeve talk all day. Maybe there is a centralized location for all of us to meet. I'm a little north of Dallas in Allen but I work in Dallas. Would love to meet up! I haven't researched any support groups...need to do that. Is it reccommended to join a group before surgery or after?

It's so hard to wait! I left so many messages with the coordinator when trying to get my date. I must have drove her insane!
