Post op tummy tucker's

Recommended Posts

I am packing my bag for hospital, and have packed a million pairs of underwear (Ok, 10 pairs for an est. 2-5 day stay)

But do they even let you wear undies? That was one of the very few things I forgot to ask. :rolleyes

Aussie Chick -- CONGRATULATIONS on reaching your goal. Your photos are inspiring for me because your before photos look a lot like me. I hope to be able to start some serious inquiries about Tummy Tuck by next fall. Keep us posted with photos on your progress.

Thanks Seppi, and gjray!

I will be taking my official "before" pics on Monday night, then I will have DH take pics every day post op. I really regret not keeping better progress pics when I was banded, so I am going to do this right!

Good luck to you. I had a Tummy Tuck about 2 years ago. Although I was an out patient, didn't have to stay over nite. I also had it done before I had the lap band, did things a bit backwards. Anyway, you can wear underwear, you will be in a binder after the surgery. Beprepared its very painful, but you will love the results.

Good luck

Thanks Cheryl! I am a bit of a prude I must confess, and the thought of not wearing panties, even if I am wearing the compression garment, is a bit much for me!

Thanks Dianne and SugarPlum! I will update as soon as I am out of hospital.

Your new pictures are amazing. Makes me want to run out and get one. You look amazing and so thin. Hopefully I'll get to that point one day.

OMG, you look fabulous, and soooooooooooo SKINNY, I'd like to loose another 15kg before having my tummy done. Do you mind if I ask about private cover, did it cover the op, or did you have to pay big bucks. I heard somewhere that, if someone looses a lot of weight and has this excess skin, it is not considered as cosmetic anymore, but kind of a follow up after the wls.

WELL DONE

forgot to say, one fantastic way to reduce scarring and to hasten the healing is to apply neat emu oil twice a day. you'll be amazed at the results

if you're interested I can give you couple of contact sites where to get it, depending on where you live. Just a thought

I am wearing undies for the moment, because they have me in this boob tube for the tummy thing. But come Monday, when the drains come out, I will be wearing a compression garment (thigh to bra line type)

I am really looking forward to having the drains out!!

Yeah, if you lose a lot of weight, and are referred by your GP, it can be considered re constructive. I do have top private cover, and it was covered (DH works in public transport, and we have Rail & Transport Health Fund - apparently they cover more than the average fund - I will be out of pocket by about $1800 - $2000 total by the time we have paid all of the bills. I had no bill for the hospital, and I was in The Wesley Hospital in Brisbane)

PM me with the details when you get time, please.

Thank you! It's not really as painful as it looks. My back and backside hurt more than my tummy (back from walking hunched over, and backside from sitting on it!)

I do feel pretty darn good. I am housebound for the moment, because I don't want to be going out with blood filled drains on display!! But after Monday, I will be getting out and about again.

Thank you everyone!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
