Hi All,

Just have a quick question . . . I just started my full liquid diet today. I'm supposed to get in 64 oz of Fluid and try to get in 50 grams of Protein. I am don't know how I am supposed to do that. So far, I had about 1/2 cup greek yogurt (7 grams protein), and approximately 20 oz of fluids.

If I do a Protein shake with milk, can my milk count towards my fluid intake?

Thanks for your help!

Courtney

I'm 12 days post op and on full liquid requirement of 60g Protein and 64 oz. of Fluid. Doctor's staff told me all fluid counted toward's 64 oz. I started buying the ready to drink Protein Shakes that have 52g of protein for 1 shake. It takes me almost all day to drink it, but I get my protein in and they taste pretty good. Also, in the blender, I put a Jay Robb Protein Shake packet(25g), No sugar added carnation instant Breakfast packet and a few ounces of rice milk and ice cubes. Tastes good and you get around 35g protein. A 20oz. bottle of Isopure has 40g. of whey protein isolate so those work really well for me too. You can find all of the above at The Vitamin Shoppe.< /em>

Hi Courtney,

Try a Protein shake for breakfast (Syntrax Nectars are awesome 23g pro & 8 oz water), a bottle of Water between (16oz), yogurt (6gpro) and Healthwise hot chocolate (made with milk its 25g pro and 8 oz liquid) and then another Water (16oz) and finish with Soup fortified w/ pro powder.

You can buy a nectar sample pack online for under $20.... But all flavors are freakin delish and have 23g pro!!!!

The milk you make a smoothie or pudding counts as liquid.

Thanks Kat!! I didn't even think of the unflavored Protein. I tried some cream of wheat this morning, made with milk. But I'm not even sure how much protein I had because I didn't measure. I'm figuring 5 grams. I'm going to have a shake for lunch. Then maybe I'll add the unflavored protein to my soup for dinner. I am also going to try to the ready-to-drink Protein drinks. Thanks for your help! Courtney

mix it at room temp,,if the liquid is too hot,,it will clump. You can also use a wisk,,that helps as well as a shake cup that has the spring ball in it that is for mixing really well.

I use Unjury unflavored and it says that you can in warm beverages under 130 degrees. I'm not sure abot the other kinds of unflavored Protein, but this one works. I mixed my chocolate unjury in my coffee and did not clump.

Okay, I went to GNC and did really good there. I bought the Isopure with 40 grams of Protein to try. I thought I would just sip that throughout the day. Then they gave me a sample of GNC Total Lean shakes that were already premixed . . . oh my gosh, they were so yummy! I got of few boxes of the vanilla and the strawberry (they were buy one get one, get one 50% off). I have Unjury chocolate that I need to finish, but once that's gone I'm definately getting the chocolate GNC brand. Yum, yum, yum . . . I was never so excited about a Protein Drink before.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
