A Stall Can Break Your Spirit

Recommended Posts

I have been stuck at this weight now since week 3. I have stayed at 226 since that time. I have added excersize added walking increased my Water intake put Protein Drinks back in my diet even though they make me physically ill.

I know that stalls happen but I don't know what else to change I stay under 800 calories and under 40 carbs and get around 70 Proteins a day.

I have posted my frustration before and it seems to help my disappointment level. I have spoke with my nut and my trainer they say keep working it will change. I have been told not to weigh as often but truth be told if I went a whole week and didn't lose I would be devastated!

I have given my all and feel defeated. Just needed to vent.... GOD BLESS

This happens to everyone. I know it is hard to see past a stall, but it will happen. What is going on is you are losing fat, and your body is replacing it with Water and the exercise is creating new muscle, which we all know weighs more than fat. You need to measure your body with a tape measure and record that...I am willing to bet that although the scale isnt moving.....the inches are still coming off. Keep your spirits up.....it will start to move again! :)

We all plateau for abit. I am in week 2 of my current one. I normally only lose the week before my period. You are not alone. I know sometimes it is hard to see past the disappointment, but the scale will move again.

I defo agree with taking measurements... they are a much more accurate way of seeing how much smaller you are getting. The scale will move again, just keep doing what you are doing and try not to stress too much - I know, easier said than done!

I am stalled too, and it is frustrating. It's been since mid February for me. I am seeing changes in my body though, so I hope the scale will start moving again.

I am trying to stay off the scale and I never took an pre-op measurements. I have a pair of sz 14 shorts that I love and I try them on every few days. Even though the scale wasn't moving, the shorts are getting closer to fitting!

I understand your frustration....I have been at a stall for 4 weeks now. I just posted this evening, however, that I started LilMissDiva's Boot Camp and I seem to have broken the stall (and I'm only on day 2). Here is the link if you're interested in giving it try. I recommend it....it's not really all that difficult....not torturous like going back to liquids would be. The hardest part for me is the amount of Water.

I could have written this post myself!!! I'm at week 8 tomorrow, and I've been stalled since week three. I'm about to tear my hair out thinking I'm going to be at 300 pounds the rest of my LIFE and I had surgery to lose 44 pounds. I know that's not true, but it sure feels that way some days.

I went to a restaurant tonight that I haven't been to since January. I did not fit in the chairs back then. I had to perch at the edge of the chair. Tonight--I FIT!! That was some consolation.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
