This is too funny. I try so hard not to talk peoples ears off about the surgery. I'm on month 11 of a 12 month counseling period. I gained 20 lbs since I started so I'm trying to lose 15 lbs by May 2. That's when the surgical nurse sends the ppr work to the ins co. I don't want any reason for them to deny me So freaking excited!!

i am afraid my DH is kind of tired of me talking about it all the time too. My WLS was 12/15/11 - and i still talk about my food, what i'm gonna eat, what not to eat - portions - all that good stuff.

i don't have anyone else to physically to talk to. Mom and daughter, i talk to them about it sometimes, but i don't want to go and on about it, or should i say i don't think they want to hear me go on and on ^_^

i know exactly what you are going through and how excited you are. well i think i do.

take care, write again soon with questions or just to say hi, and tell us how you are doing

later

i have been lurking around for months and I registered right now just to post on this topic. I have been talking about this non-stopppp. i was actually starting to get some serious anxiety from this or so I think thats wat it was from. I am the most impatient person ever LOL and I like to be prepared with as much knowledge as possible when I step into a new situation. All i do is research and learn and talk peoples ears off. I am kind of embarrassed at how excited I am about this, especially when some people look down on this surgery. I still can't contain myself from talking about it to whoever will listen.

i have finished all of my requirements and am waiting for the team at the Bariatric center clear me this upcoming week. Once that is done I will have my appt with the surgeon and we will set the surgery date. im praying nothing unexpected comes up.

Good luck to you all. I am terrified of the pre-op diet.

Guys can totally understand how excited u are. I ended up having to take last two days before surgery off work as I was talking about it so much that I was getting emotional.

My partner was very supportive although he works away we made all or most appointments so that we could share the journey together. He is completely opposite to me. Mum refers to us as the nursery rhyme jack sprat could eat no fat his wife could eat no lean. Lol. But he had been there every step of the way. I spent a week on and off in hospital but with no major issues.

Will be so good to listen to you all share you journey too. I am 12 days post sleeve and getting ready to go to purée stage.

Good luck.

I feel as though I may be getting a little annoying because I'm so excited its all I talk about. No one understand s how huge this is. Anyone else going through this?

I was overly obsessed with my surgey in the weeks leading up to it. The bad thing was I was having my test for my RN boards 4 days before surgery~~ Fortunately I passed. My surgery went well. When I woke up i was freeaking out a little because i couldn't see (i had to take out my contacts) and I still had the tube in my throat. Pain was bearable but i still used the PCA because I felt uncomfortable.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
