Is the best strategy to lose a little bit so it looks like you need help? What happens if you lose too much and they say you don't need surgery?

Please everyone with BCBS of Illinois keep calling your insurance regarding the now obsolete waiting period. While policies will differ from employer to employer, if your policy does pay for WLS, there is no more 6 month wait. Be your own advocate. This was a big win that doctors actually lobbied to get because all it served to do was discourage people and make them feel more of a failure. This was cleared in February so call BCBS of illinois daily until they give you the correct information!
