so scared, help, please!!!kinda gross. women only.

WARNING: Very Gross. Please be warned. I have had an upset stomach for about 10 hrs now. As in the runs. I have my period as well. About 1 hr ago I felt something weird so I looked down at the paper and there was blood on it. Alot. I figured it was just from my period. Just now I went again because I felt cramps. I decided to look directly in the toilet. It was full of blood and mucus at the bottom. When I wiped it was full of blood again. It looked like I just went blood, alot of it and thick. The blood is red not black. I am so scared. I never had it like this. I haven't been able to eat much the past 3 days. I've read here though and many women tighten up during that time of month. I thought nothing of it. has this happened to anyone. I don't have insurance, so if I go to emergency room I can't pay. I am so scared, please tell me what u think. If there are any nurses or doctors, if u have ever heard of anything like this. Thank you friends, and sorry about the details.

how much pain are you in? like the poster a few pages ago, i also got a fissure during childbirth. (that's not the only way you can get them, and is in fact one of the least likely ways to become fissurized.)

the pain of a fissure is really, really bad. like having a bowie knife stuck sideways in your bottom.

my fissure was very severe, and i bled constantly. the blood was bright red, and there was always so much in the toilet that i couldn't see anything else in there. it was even able to obscure toilet paper. eventually, i had to have surgery to reverse the situation. nothing about any of it was easy or fun.

INSIST on a colonoscopy. it will probably answer all of your questions, or at least rule out lots of possibilities.

Have your doctor admit you directly to the hospital. This is nuts. They can do a colonoscopy or anything else you need once you are admitted. It doesn't matter if it is an ulcer or whatever. The fact is that you have been bleeding increasingly more and more for the last couple of weeks. You have to be starting to be anemic. I would love to know what your blood count looks like. Talk to your doctor. I hate to say it but you are your own best advocate. If you have to be a PITA do it. Squeaky wheels do get oiled. Thinking of you...wish you better...Meg

thanks meg, trust me I was very vocal. They said my blood count was a bit low but nothing that caused them alarm. They still said there was alot of blood without a doubt but I wasn't bleeding enough for my blood count to reallly show danger. I think it's because they see that I haven't paid them yet that they are not willing to admit me. Really I am just going to get it done next week. It was the only time I could get in. Considering my blood count is ok.

been on vaca, so sorry to hear you are going thru this. I really hope they get you in for a colon ASAP! Good luck with everything!
