For a delicious pound cake that won't pack on the pounds, this is the recipe for you! Traditional pound cake gets its name from the original recipe: a pound of butter, a pound of sugar, and a pound of flour. Our version takes the "pound" out of pound cake, but includes flavors that will delight anyone.

Ingredients:

2 1/4 cups cake flour

2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

3 large eggs

2 large egg whites

1 cup reduced-fat sour cream

1/4 cup canola oil

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

5 tablespoons butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup packed light brown sugar

1 tablespoon confectioners' sugar

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 55 minutes

Difficulty: Easy

Yield: 16 Servings

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 325°F. Spray a 10-inch Bundt pan with nonstick spray.

Sift the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and baking soda in a large bowl until blended; set aside. Whisk the eggs and egg whites in a medium bowl until frothy. Whisk in the sour cream, oil, and vanilla. With an electric mixer on medium speed, beat the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy, about 1 minute. Reduce the speed to low. Alternately add the flour mixture and the egg mixture, beginning and ending with the flour mixture and beating just until blended.

Scrape the batter into the pan. Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, 50 to 55 minutes. Do not overbake. Let cool in the pan on a rack, 10 minutes. Remove the cake from the pan and let cool completely on the rack. Sift the confectioners' sugar evenly over the cooled cake.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
