I Find The Operation Stupid

Recommended Posts

This is on my Drs. page, I am at four months out. My surgeon's PA explained at each appointment what I should and should eat and gave me a handout of the phases. I had a one week follow up, two week, then six week, then three month. In two months I have my six month follow up where blood work will be done. Maybe this will give you a guideline if you don't have a clear one from your surgeon.

Countrysjr: This is a great resource link - gives some more ideas/reminders for us in the various stages post-op! Thanks! Enjoying my 'weight-control banana nutbread flavored instant oatmeal' with a 1/3 banana mushed up in it! Actually quite good! :D

So if your saying that people with real questions and concerns must only phone their surgeons , what about people who didnt do the operation will a fairy come to them and answer the questions ? And its strange that you concentrated about mac and cheese which were published by me and forgot hundreds of food published here . In the other hand your post was over dramatic so here you go .

Where did I say that people can ONLY phone their surgeons? You are free to do whatever you want, post whatever you want, ask any question you want, but if you want the real, drama-free answer from a medical professional, your surgeon is (usually) your best resource.

My guess is that if you called your surgeon's office, you would be told to dial back the eating for a while. You might be reminded of things you were told before the surgery. Surely your surgeon's program included education on this life-altering surgery. As a medical student, you surely know how to research the side effects of a surgical procedure.

As a medical student, you would be able to comprehend that some foods may never be tolerated again, ever. It is possible that you may never be able to enjoy cheese panini again!

You are getting exactly the responses you were looking for so enjoy your day.

Okay, so now I think I understand. I'm not being flip here, but the response to overly dramatic posts is to step back and not reply. It's hard when it becomes apparent that we are being played for fools though. It has happened on this site. People do like to play games. As someone said earlier, it is easy to get sucked in. It's what high drama people like. No offense meant. It's just a fact.

P.S. I'm so slow. I think that weird typing is a way to type Arabic using Anglicized script. Funny, you think I would recognize it since I'm cataloging a mess of books about the Arabian peninsula and the Middle East in general.

Heyy, yes it was arabic. I apologize, i meant no disrespect, i just felt he wasnt understanding that everyone was trying to help him, so i told him to calm down and that i had just done the surgery a week ago but it gets better every day and that he should remember the reason he did the surgery in te first place. I for one am learning a lot from everyone and am getting better and happier within the second.

I tried to translate on google, it thought it was Czeck. :) Still didn't work.

Interesting, so it's Arabic as close as you can get with a regular keyboard?

No offense taken. It does get better every day, but some people develop food intolerance and others don't I can eat just about anything, but I haven't tried popcorn and will not until 6 months out - something about getting the kernels caught and infecting the staple line.

I only got "doctor" out of that. Not necessary, but a translation would be nice so we can all play.

Hehehe no we have an arabic keyboard, it's just that the new cyber generation has developed an "eng-arab" way to write arabic using english letter.. Cuz for some of us, its easier and faster to type with an english keyboard than arabic.

A friend of mine was in Kuwait for a few years. She liked it. The only thing that bugged her was the lack of alcohol, but that wouldn't have bothered me. My vice of choice is soda.

Thanks.

That's nice. Well you can easily find alcohol like anything illegal in any country. It's just more expensive lol. But all in all it's a very nice, small, peaceful, homey country.

Well, she was U.S. Army, so no, it wasn't an option. We were guests. A very nice country with lots of beaches.

Don't ya just love trolls? I mean the skilled ones give me a good laugh. This troll is either new to his craft or isn't very good at it.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
