Mika! You need to check with your surgeon! Everyone is different, MDs have their patients on different regimens. I was not cleared for mushies till week 6! I know others started sooner... but probably the safest thing to do is check in with your MD and his/her plan for you. Congratulations on your progress. It's so great that you are doing so well and feeling good!!! It gets better and better!!!! :-)

Did your doctor not put you on a regimen?? You should have been educated on your post op diet previous to surgery! I can give you an idea of what mine is to help:

Week 1-2 Clear Liquids like Water, crystal light, caffeine free tea, chicken or beef broth and 80g of Protein drink with low carb low calories made with water!

Week 3-4 full liquids along with Clear Liquids. Full liquids include skim or 1% milk, sugar free carnation instant Breakfast. Now you can make your Protein Drink with milk!

Week 4-6 semi-solid foods such as scrambled eggs, cream of wheat and oatmeal.

Week 7-10 are really specific on what to introduce into your diet.

Introduce only one food at a time and 2 tbsp to start with and never more than 1/2 cup total.

You really need to give your sleeve time to heal and you need to give your brain time to retrain itself from the need of food food food all the time!

I hope that helps a little :-) best of luck to you!!

you will probably feel hungry from time to time on liquids also you might not be hungry it might be head hunger. once you start on solids again u will be quick to realize that you fill up fast. just remember to take your time when u get to the part where u can eat! good luck

Hi and congrats in your decision to change your life with the sleeve! =) I've come to realize that almost every dr has a different plan for their patient after the sleeve. Mine was like this: Week 1-Clear liquids ONLY.

Week 2 on-they told me I could start soft foods. I had to listen to my own body and what I thought was best bc I didn't think it was a good idea to go on solids yet. So,on week 2 I went instead from Clear Liquids to full liquids, then in week 3 went to mushies, then in week 4 went to softs. Now at week 6 I am allowed to eat any consistency. I can barely fit any solids into my sleeve so I def stick with lean Protein first, then veggies and fruits,no room for starches. =)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
