Anyone have their period during surgery? Im freaked out at the thought of it

I woke up in the hospital next day with my period. And I have not had one in years! (have an IUD)

The thought of the whole catheter and having it at the same time kind of thing embarrasses me for whatever reason.

Well my period always came like clock work due on the 12 th of feb and guess what it came on feb 22 and my surgery was was this week on feb 27 I am a heavy bleeder and last usually 5 to 6 days. So o

I never needed help wiping or anything..most dont..it'll just take you a little longer to do

My IV was in my right arm and I'm right handed so wiping and changing pads was a little challenging. And the fact that the bathroom was teeny tiny didn't help either. Most times the nurse would unhook me but sometimes I wheeled the IV pole in the bathroom with me.

I actually planned my surgery date around 2 things only. 1) my PERIOD. I use an app on my phone called Happy Period (uh, yeah right) which helps me predict the days. I've been using it for over a year, and its been pretty darn accurate. So just to be safe I planned one week after the predicted period ends, which gives me a few days just in case.

2) The Presidential election! I get to recuperate while watching all the election coverage....STOKED! Ill just have to be careful not to get overly excited or start throwing things at the tv... ;-)
