Flame Free Friday Confessions!

Recommended Posts

Last night I was soooo hungry dice everything makes me sick right now so I had read on the sliders thread about baked cheetos going down easy so I grabbed a bag I have for my kids & scarfed them down. 2 min later I threw them up! They did go down easy tho & tasted good so there's that I guess.

Oh, and I hate this forced bulimia I'm suffering from!!!

I have Diet Coke and white cheddar popcorn every night, I drink a little when I eat, I'm struggling with the motivation to exercise, I don't eat enough Protein and I weigh myself too much. Whew! Feels good to come clean. :)

I'm not sleeved yet but I am trying to eat healthier. Except when I see doughnuts filled with Peanut Butter flavored pastry cream. Then I say, "Screw it" and get one. Or two.

I got back from vacation Sunday and can't get back on track. I haven't tracked my food all week, haven't worked out, and am making not-so-great choices. Ugh. Tomorrow is a new day!!

Girl Scout Cookies. Need I say more.

LOL This is my confession too. I just bought a box of Savannah Smiles outside of the grocery store about 30 minutes ago. They're the ones I like the most for the least amount of calories. I can limit myself to only 2 per day which is around 70 calories total (I think), so I don't feel so terrible about it.

Confession: I went out on Weds night for my boss's retirement party and drank a glass of wine, a margarita and a vodka/cranberry within about 3 hours. I am 6 weeks out!! Boy were they tasty!!

I know this is terrible but since I received the actual date for my surgery, I've been eating like a hostage!!! I eat everything in site. Ribs, BLTs, steak, fried chicken, chips, Cookies, cake, sodas, candy, etc. If I see it, I eat it! I have been treating every day like the last supper!!!! LOL

Oh and one more thing, I've been considering going to see a previously used weight loss doctor to get some diet pills to get me thru the 2 week pre-op liquid diet. Although I haven't actually gone thru with it yet and probably won't. It has definitely entered my mind though.

Technically it's not Friday anymore but I have a little confession to make to..

I decided to start mushies 2 weeks early on my own. I couldn't stand anymore soups/Full liquids. So far everything has gone down perfect I chew it well and I try to be very careful about what I am eating and I chew it until it's liquid so I'm hoping it's ok :/

And I cheated big time on my pre op diet... I feel horrible about it still. I was doing ok for the first week but the day of my pre op appt. I was so nervous and freaked out. Once i got home I ate a big ass sandwich.. with all kinds of meat and cheese.. and then I ate some valentines candy :/ I got myself back on track thankfully but I felt and still do feel so guilty.

I can honestly say I was so worried I would fall into the same bad habits after surgery but so far I have no desire to eat crap like I used to. And I love that I can't eat very much at a time. I have never felt so good!!!

I love this idea! It's no longer Friday, but since I haven't gone to bed it still is for me, lol.

My confession is that I do not eat slowly. I finish eating within 2 minutes. My restriction feels the same at almost a year out so I'm not sweating it.

I blame the public school system, i used to get an average of 7 minutes to eat!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
