I was cleaning and i picked up something and went to put it on the floor. As i sat it down i heard popping noises from my stomach. immediately following i had the craziest urge to use the bathroom. and omg it was the most horrible thing i smelled before. now i am light headed and nauseous. Should i be worried. I called the doc and i am waiting for a call back. Has this happened to anyone before.

Wow - wish I had something to tell you - no idea what that was - a call to the doctor was the right thing - let us know how you are and what the doc says.

Doesn't sound good. I don't want to speculate but I will pray. If yoou do not get a return call, call them back and then the next step would be the ER.

Praying that all is well.

Are you saying you heard pop, pop, pop from kinda far inside? Did it hurt under your ribcage? When you had to go, was it solid, either followed by mushy or liquidy or gas?

If no pain you may have just pushed a bit of a blockage, er, on through. It could really smell bad because it's mostly protien.

If it were really multicolored, mucousy etc it could be a bigger problem. The pop could be an infection opening up - like a diberticulitis cyct - which means your infection drained, but now you have to deal with that.

Hope all is well. If you are running a fever or your tummy hurts you should def not wait on your doctor. Don't wait too long anyway or you will end up in an after hour clinic at alot more expense.

it was a Blockage of poop. (embarrassing) and when I bent over It moved lol. and they said the Light headedness and nausea was just coincidental. But I feel ok thank you guys. I was worried I popped the incisions. Breathing easier

OMG thats too ironic - check out my post from this morning. I basically have the same thing but it hasn't budged yet. I have a heating pad wrapped around my tummy now...but mine hurts bad, cause its keeping gas from passing.

I am suprised they told u the lightheadedness was coincidental - moving a blockage can do that.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
