Taking The Bandage Off

Hey!

So my nurse told me to remove that plastic bandage over my incision in 5 days...it's been 6 so I'm going to do it today. However, I need some advice on how to care for my incision. After I remove the bandage, am I supposed to put Neosporin on it? Or just leave it naked? I have no idea. I had so many questions about other aspects, that I didn't even think about asking the doctor and now it's Saturday. What did y'all do with your incisions...because I'm also scared of an infection. Oh and I only have one incision...thank God. But it's the belly button....right in the crease. Any advice would be awesome! Thanks so much!!

I had to leave mine alone for the first two weeks. After my two week check up the surgeon told me it was fine to go ahead and start putting Vitamin e on them. I had to wait a month before I was allowed to take a bubble bath which was torture for me!

They will get itchy- but be strong and avoid the temptation to scratch because it will just delay the healing.

Good luck!
